Good night for the broadcast bands! Rádio Nacional da Amazônia is booming in the midwest on 11780 @ 0310 off the 7600G whip. WWV 5.0 and 10.0 are solid as a rock.

Listening to a pirate on 6940 USB at 0250. S6 and fair here in the midwest. Rant about Fourth Amendment rights, now the Queen song "Flash Gordon." Haven't had a chance to ID yet.

Edit: It's Red Mercury Labs. "RML... San Antone."

Sounds like they're going to wrap it up with William Shatner's take on "Rocket Man." 0300 at the moment.. nope, it's "Mexican Radio" by Wall of Voodoo.

Radio Espana Exterior booming in again on 6125kHz from 0300z to 0500, S9+10 at times. News, music, interviews, great signal with very little fading using AMS.

WinRadio G303 from a 86ft OCFD up about 15feet.

4055khz Radio Verdad, Guatemala @1130z. S9 in the pre-dawn hours here in the Midwest on my droopy 150 ft random wire. I always forget that Central America is pretty much due south of me instead of east, like South America, so this signal hangs on quite late in the morning. Lots of static crashes but still pretty good copy.

Down under shortwave pirate

A new one here:

6925 kHz USB mode: New Zealand shortwave pirate "Radio Totse" coming in right now at 1058 UTC. First heard faintly at 0958 UTC this morning but slowly getting stronger here as sunrise is approaching. Reported to be operating with 100w power from New Zealand with rock music, IDs, and SSTV IDs.

Tuned in 10000khz around 1140Z this morning and was surprised to hear WWVH strong with no sign of WWV at all in the Kansas City area, a stone's throw from Colorado.. so I tuned around and the 31m band was lit up with Chinese stations. I wasn't able to positively ID much, but these are the positive and plausible catches:

9600 cri news in english- kunming
9700 radio new zealand- music
9660 CVC Tashkent- hindi (first for me)
9595 r. nikkei in japanese
9570 CRI Bejing
9550 CRI Bejing
9540 CRI kunming-anning overriding even cuba
9500 signoff at 1200 CRI shijiazhuang
9440 cri kunming-anning
9430 febc radio bocoue

Another morning session for me as I try to crawl out of my long endured, 3rd shift funk.

Pretty noisy band with static crashes that appear to be from the south Florida region Intellicast - Lightning Strikes in United States As dawn approached, the crashes dropped noticeably, yet Radio Rebelde from Cuba on 5025khz remained strong. (?) Yaesu FT-767gx and droopy 150 ft random wire.

4750khz 0945z Radio Caiari (tent) Brazil def Portugese and lively mx fair almost listenable except for the static levels.
5020khz 0955z Solomon Islands BC (ID heard at 1108z) (5019.86khz) poor to fair can just barely pull out a word in English now and again but listenable at 1100z news and heard English ident 1108z Only S5-S7 at peak well after my local sunrise. Slop from Cuba on 5025 so best in LSB.
5039.2khz 1005z Radio Libertad Peru (tent) poor weak ident by odd freq
4835khz 1010z ABC Northern Territory fair listenable levels static crashes diminishing as east coast USA gets light, almost none by 1025z. Never heard this one before. Slop from WWRB 4840khz so best in LSB.
4940 1100z Voice of Straight China Mandarin Poor to fair signals

4835KHZ 1028Z ABC Northern Territory fair but better than yesterday sounds like an Australian rules football game in English.
4840khz 1030z WWRB Tennessee booming in as usual in English
4866khz 1030z open carrier first noted at sunset last night. Beats against who's ever on 4865 (too weak to ID) to generate a wicked 1khz tone in AM. Was S8 earlier, faded out as the east coast got sunrise.
4905khz 1035z RTTY pretty loud S7 probably US government in some form. Still audible AFTER my sunrise so must be west of me. Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado??
5025khz 1040z Radio Rebelde Havana Cuba in it's usual S9 booming self. In winter, I can hear their carrier at high noon.
4055khz 1045z Radio Verdad Guatemala fair with religious prog in Spanish. S5 and some static crashes.
