Oops, now I see there was a big difference??? It loaded the file that I named, not the one you named????
PSREdit and Win500 have mixed themselves up or something? Wow, time for a new computer, lol. Been waiting for a reason!
Ha, I missed this reply!
Glad you saw what I was seeing!
It sounds like your file associations became borked somehow.
Do other things seem to still work ok? Things like PDF files open in acrobat reader for example.
If so then it may just be the file associations related to Win500.
I'm not sure but uninstalling and reinstalling Win500 may reset the file associations so the .p500 file extension files open in Win500 like they should.
I'm not sure what a .bin file should be by default but that one used to indicate a binary file and it may have not had a default association so you can probably ignore that one.
If you are running XP, it is halfway simple to change what a .p500 file opens with. It is under the Folder Options applet in Control Panel.
I don't have an XP machine handy otherwise I'd tell you how it should be set.
I've also not fully figured out how to set associations in Win 7 yet. Can't say I've really tried though.
Then again, a reason to get a new computer sounds good also
