That's Correct. the Date of manufacture of the BC-780 is 2000 as printed on the main PCB and on the back cover of the manual. I'm not certain on the BC-785.

The 785D was a few years later, followed by the 796D a couple of years after. IIRC, the 396T was 2006 or 2007.
