Someone can correct me if I am missing something but I don’t think it was ever down. The talkgroup will only work when someone affiliated is on it. I hear it from time to time with no set pattern, most likely when someone on the admin side at LACOFD has it on in the background.
100%.
LACO FIRE BLUE 8 COUNTYWIDE ( DIGITIAL)
is back up and running
What cell are you affiliated to?

Simulcast technically means "at the same time." In the case of the RICS system, and many trunked systems, if you have a simulcast "site", then all the towers in a specific area will transmit all the same traffic as if they were one "site". Some trunked systems have "standalone" sites, where there is only one "tower" associated with the site. With East Simulcast 700, for example, there are many towers associated with that "site" that all broadcast the same traffic.
You probably wouldn't hear dispatch traffic from Malibu since those units would be using West Simulcast, either 400 or 700. However, if a subscriber radio (a radio that is affiliated with the system), turns their radio to that channel/talkgroup, the system will recognize that it wants to listen to that channel/talkgroup and activate it on that entire "site", which would be East Simulcast 700. When that radio changes channels or gets turned off, then the "site" will no longer put-out traffic from Dispatch-10.
Hope that all makes sense.
Thanks! So, I put a radio up at a friend's house in Malibu and so far we've only heard transmissions for Aero Bureau dispatch and some Special Units.

Any idea why that may be the case? Since it's all part of the same system, I thought as long as I have the talkgroup programmed in (looks like decimal value 310 according to RR), I should be hearing Dispatch 10 if I'm also getting Aero Bureau.

Dispatch channels (including dispatch 10) are still on the old non-trunked frequencies. All TACs and special units dispatch are on LARICS.

Thanks... unfortunately, it looks like Malibu L-TAC is encrypted on LARICS now? :(
We tuned the radio to listen to the dispatch on the old frequency and it's surprising how little action comes through. Mostly just beeps.

Unfortunately all L-TACs are encrypted on RICS (along with their “Metro” channels that they are using pretty often based on my listening). It’s a real tease when there is something ongoing, but hey, at least dispatch is still clear…for now.

Tried searching the thread but couldn't find a definitive answer .... Regarding the San Gabriel Simulcast 700 coverage map, does the red circle indicate the coverage area? Doesn't seem to corollate with the tower locations .... Also, why 700 and UHF sites that appear to cover the same areas? Voice on one and data on the other? Thanks!

Voice on both UHF and 700 even though they cover the same areas.

As far as coverage on the map goes, your mileage may vary.
I can often receive San Gabriel Simulcast UHF here in the West San Fernando Valley; 700, not so much.

The red circle area would depict more of the East cell area and is not accurate for the San Gabriel cell.. Picture a red circle around the blue icons and you have your coverage area for San Gabriel cell...

AFAIK, Radio Reference is not well-suited for depicting coverage of multi-site cells like these, since the actual component sites are variable and not in the database. The center and radius shown are somewhat arbitrary. The real coverage would look more like a cloud. You might check the LA-RICS site to see if it's in the publc docs, though I can imagine the actual coverage could be considered a security risk.

Are they still putting LACoFD dispatch on here? I have not heard it in the Lancaster/Palmdale area since the switch to the new lineup.

They had been putting Blue 8 the county wide dispatch out on LR-RICS.I know the new UHF radio plan and have it. It was just nice to run the dispatch on LR-RICS since it came in nice and clear. All over the AV.

With an antenna set on the roof of an 8-story building in East Hollywood, would it be possible to pick up LASD dispatch for Santa Clarita and Lancaster? The towers are based on Oat Mountain and Mt McDill, which are about 40-50 miles from my antenna, respectively.
