BLUE 8 DISPATCH. Sadly to say and that's it.
I think they meant what LASD talk group is most active. I can't speak for LA-RICS, but on their analog UHF, probably the most active frequencies are SRC Access and the Transit Service Bureau. You can find both in the LASD database.

For LACoFD, most everything is in the clear on their previous and new UHF frequencies. Blue 8 may be one of the only ones in the clear on LA-RICS, but as stated earlier by me and others, they mainly will be on the analog UHF freqs they are inheriting from LASD as they move to LA-RICS.

Can anyone confirm whether LASD kept the busy tone on the new dispatch talkgroups? Because you know… there’s something comical about the thought that the mighty AES256 algorithm is being used to protect “beep… beep… beep… beep…” :D

APX7000 the old analog FIRE sounds very clear no static as has been
The NEW LACO CHANNELS lots of static and not clear at all . Wondering how the actual station units hear it as..

LACO FIRE seems only BLUE 8 is the only channel active on old system
All are active on the NEW LA-RICS analog but lots of static
I was hearing the two tone page outs on Blue 8 and not on the new system.
Might be the reason it's still being used.

So there will probably either two options here.

They keep the dispatch talkgroups open on the dispatcher side and setup another talkgroup for mobiles only to communicate back on AES-256. This has been impleted on some trunking systems before. They will have a mobile talkgroup setup to talk back in encryption. This gets rid of the BEEP BEEP since on Trunking Systems this option can't be implemented. So this is how you get rid of of BEEP BEEP and solve the BEEP BEEP privacy issue they want to probably keep in place.

Or they keep it wide open or everything completely closed. I am thinking more like OPTION 1. That's my gut feeling.
