So nobody in Winnemucca NV. has a scanner and listens to NHP, DOT, medics talking to the hospital? Only need to know if I'm having an issue with my scanner.

That system you posted is no longer in use. EDACS is dead in NV. Now on the P25 digital system.
It is still in use in Northern Nevada. It is slated to move over to P25 sometime next year up here.
I have my issue worked out with the radio tech. The EDACS was down in Humboldt county until this morning, so my issue is kind of fixed. I still have a lot of static after a transmission is complete. They are working on it, so soon all should be good.

OK. Since the DECAS system on Winnemucca Mountain was restored 8/3/25, 9 times out of 10 during the transmission I hear a reply or two, then it seams to go to a control channel and all I get is static until I manually resume scanning. I am using a uniden 996P2 with all the updates and programed with ARC-XT with the sit deleted and reprogramed from R.R several times. Anyone know why it dose this after coming back on line?

I listen to the EDACS Networked on the Nevada Shared Radio System through the repeaters on Winnemucca Mountain. The system was down(or at least I didn't get any transmissions) through the weekend of Aug. 2nd and 3rd. When it came back on line, it sounds like it has two control channels. #1 0851.475000 is the control channel. #2 0851.85000 has the same sound when I hold on it as #1 but dose not act as a control channel, just the static noise. My scanner(996P2) dose not recognize #2 it as a control channel while scanning. The problem is, when a transmission come through, and it lands on #2 all i get is static. When the transmission lands on #3 and #4 it sounds great. I have tried changing the Audio Type in the Group, when I remove #2 channel the trunking will not work and I have reprogramed removing the extra 0's, nothing changed. I traveled to Lander County and listened to the system and it Trunked perfectly. It seams it's only the repeaters I have listened to(Winnemucca Mountain and Golconda Summit). I have not travel north to listen to Flat Creek or Denio to see if they do the same thing.
This is what frequencies and their order I have programed.

0851.475000 1
0851.850000 2
0852.475000 3
0853.162500 4

If anyone in Winnemucca that listens to the EDACS system off Winnemucca Mountain or Golconda summit would let me know if you are having the same problem, If anyone who knows a fix for this would reach out and let me know, that would be great.

That system is going away. It is probably being decommissioned and taken apart. It’s one of the few analog system still left in the United States.

Didn’t you post the same thread last week and you were told the same thing? There is nothing to listen to. There is no traffic on it. There may be some P 25 channels that are patched to it on a temporary basis and you are hearing that temporary traffic and then you are thinking that something is broken whenever you can’t hear that traffic. You need to get a P 25 capable scanner or reprogram your scanner to the P 25 network and delete the EDACS.

YEP. with no help at all and I'm pretty sure my Uniden 996P2 is capable of hearing P25 Phase II transmissions. The only EDACS system that has changed over to P25 Phase II in Nevada according to R.R is Clark, Nye, Esmerelda, Lincoln, Mineral, Lyon, White Pine and simulcast out of Washoe.

I'm not a scanner guy, so not sure how your scanner works, but if it was me, I'd check to see if that second control channel was P25.

Years ago when I migrated a system from a Motorola SmartNet type 2 system, I took down 2 channels. On one of the two channels, I put a new NXDN system control channel in it's place and used the second channel for traffic. That let me run my customers on the SmartNet system and start testing the NXDN system.

I spent a short period of time working on a T-Band EDACS system before it was decommissioned. There is a very good chance this system is still running on Harris/MACOM Mastr III repeaters. Great machines but they had basically no live performance monitoring. Totally plausible that one or more of the channels is having issues that the systems techs aren't aware of.
