Why does this system come in so broken up? I couldn't be 10 miles from the dispatch center. Is this common with the P25 systems? District of Columbia FD comes in clear and it is 35 miles away.

Simulcasting I'm guessing. There are several sites broadcasting this system, not just at the ECC.

You must be in an elevated part of the county and receive strong signals from several sites.

I can see the ECC. I can receive Loudoun fine, though when at home I leave the antenna off.
I don't have the slightest signal for DC FD, wish I did though, only get MPD.

Try using the attenuation or removing the antenna.

Loudoun P25

The Loudoun P25 has only one site, according to the database. I could be wrong. I believe that the breaking up has something to do wit the way they use P25.

I can only dream of a day when I could remove my antenna in order to receive Loudoun County Public Safety (LOL). I thought I finally found the “right place” last week (outside, on low part of roof) but when the wind picked up yesterday afternoon……….A good day for me is picking up the two LCSO dispatch channels and the LCFR Dispatch and TAC channels.
