M7100 Orion Convert

I have a remote mount orion radio, and a front mount M7100. How can i make the M7100 into a remote mount with the orion cables? Or how do i put the orion head on the M7100?

Back of the M7100 has a smaller DB cable then the Orions 37 pin one, same with the ribbon cable for the control head. The M7100 is 2 "pins" smaller then the orion so not sure how this is done. But i know it can be done

Well, to make the M7100 remote mounted, just take the head off and put the blank plate back in its place. The cables will work just the same.

To mount the Orion head on the M7100 you will need the new ribbon cable that has the contacts on one end and the plug to go to the logic board on the other.

A M7100 can be a drop-in replacement for an Orion remote mount. The pinouts are exactly the same. The M7100 front mount kits are different tho, with the main difference being the ribbon cable going from the logic board to the back of the control head.

So from these i dont see how these will just fit at all Unless i rig up my own cable to connect from the orion to the m7100 to make it a remote setup

And guess i would need that convert thing for the faceplates. Even if i cant get the orion system control head onto the M7100 thats ok. I can deal witht eh scan M7100 head as a remote. Just anyway i can make the front into a remote is all i want really..

Are you sure "2476" is a M7100? What the tag say for model?

So i assume the orion cables wont work on the 7300's

Nope, those are apples to oranges different. Control heads arent even in the same ballpark. Unfortunately you will need to aquire new accessories.

At least programming wont require a new cable, the DB-9 above the 44 pin is your programming port.

Ill guess its $$$ costly to get a remote kit for this M7300?
