Marshall Co Simulcast

I was receiving the Marshall Co simulcast system with 4-5 bars and the last several days it has been 0 to maybe 1 bar signal. Nothing has changed with my setup and I’m in Cullman Co. My coax has also been checked. Anyone else having this issue?

I’ve checked my filter settings and tried different ones. Usually it works best on wide invert for that system.

ok. do you have all the frequencies or just control channels programed . its possible that the might have rotated control channels. or the site closest to u maybe be down and there using the other 2 sites and it not in range of them .
700/800 mhz reception can change based on atmosp. conditions . i have seen that happen many times. if you are not scanning any analog freqs. i would try turning the squelch down to 0 and see if that helps. i know you said you had the coax checked . was it checked with the antenna disconnected. checking end to end ? also are you using range control ie zip code or a favorites list . check your service codes like fire disptach etc . also if your using sential check to see if monitor is turned on .just some things to check .

Setting the aforementioned system aside for now; have you tested reception on anything else? Do you have a reliable NOAA weather radio station you can test & if so, how does it come in? Weaker than usual? This should rule out anything site-specific going on with the TRS

Service types still the same, and currently just have the control channels programmed, but even when all the frequencies are in, same issue. I can pickup the Jeff Co simulcast with no issue most of the time. Analog comes in fairly well

well my friend if you can get the jeffco simulcast system. your scanner is working fine and the antenna is working . maybe the have added some new control channels that have not been published yet . have you tried to search for new control channels yet .
now the fun begins in tracking down your problem . have you tried to drive around with it in your vehicle to see if it might be the location . you dont need a mobile antenna to test .if you can get it around town then its the location. at home. it could be the foilage from the trees that can be blocking the path .

Trees are a significant factor in coverage on these systems. So much so that the coverage planning software has the option to run the simulations as several different types of terrain, including forests. FYI, a pine needle is roughly 1/4 wavelength at the 700/800 frequencies used by public safety. As such, pine forests and thickets can present coverage issues.

As a user of the Marshall County system, nothing has changed. I get 1-3 bars depending on weather.
