Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

RDAC Connectivity Question

Hello all.

I'm sure this has been answered but I'm having a hard time finding a solution that would fix my current setup and issue.

I have a single SLR5700 VHF running in analog. That repeater is connected to a small router with tailscale enabled. This router is connected to the main switch for my agency. In my radio room, I have another router (no tailscale) that is also attached to the main switch and it serves several things in the office (computer, NAS, etc.). The computer I have RDAC installed on is running tailscale as well. I can ping the repeater from my computer and can access the repeater's webpage from my computer, but I am unable to get RDAC to connect to the repeater.

Full Cone NAT is enabled on the SLR5700 router and I have UDP port forwarded to the repeater's IP address.

This isn't a critical need, but when network stuff stumps me, I like to get it figured out and I realized I need some help this time..lol

Thanks

There's a handful of things you need to check in order to make sure the SLR5700 pops up in RDAC.

First- have you configured the Link Establishment section in the repeater codeplug?

Link Type- This should be set to Master

Authentication Key- You can choose whether or not to use this feature. If you do and you end up adding other XPR/SLR peers, they each need to have this key to join the IP Site Connect/RDAC network.

Master IP- This is the IP address you have assigned the SLR5700 in the "Network" section of the codeplug, preferably static, not DHCP.

Master UDP Port- Make sure this is set correctly, such as 50000

UDP Port- This will be the same UDP port as the Master UDP Port (50000). If you end up linking other XPR/SLR repeaters, then this is where the UDP port would differ than the Master UDP Port as each repeater needs a unique UDP Port number, ie 50001, 50001, etc.

Peer Firewall Timer- In my experience, this has been left at the default value (6) and it has worked fine for me.

Under the Network section, make sure you have all of the pertinent info filled out. Again, a static IP is preferable over DHCP.

Now under the RDAC config:

I assume you have created a new system in remote mode.

Everything in there is pretty straightforward. You enter in the IP of the Master Repeater, Master UDP Port, and Authentication Key if you're using it.
Make sure RDAC has an unique ID and UDP Port. Each Repeater and RDAC need to have their own assigned radio id along with their unique UDP Port.

Make sure all of those settings are correct. If you're able to ping the repeater and access the web page as you say, then RDAC should connect and see the SLR5700. I use OpenVPN for all of my repeater sites, so I'm not that familiar with Tailscale, so I cant really help on that end if that becomes the issue after you have checked your codeplug/RDAC settings.

Good Luck.

SLR repeater talks over IP in analog? I have been missing this feature!

RDAC joins the IPSC/Cap Plus system as a peer, so repeater must be a master in this instance. I was always under the impression that the network port didnt work in analog.

Yeah, it has been working well for me. I help manage a 4 different sites and RDAC works well on the SLR5700s on analog.

Hello SDelta,

I too have a similar issue with RDAC and also MotoTrbo webserver.

First, we have several MotoTRBO repeaters on DMRVA network. At two sites I help maintain both repeaters are Static IP.
UDP ports are 60340 and 60560. I can connect RDAC with Local connection via PC.
Link Type is Peer and after reading this post leads me to think RDCA cannot connect to Link Type of Peer.

Can RDAC connect remotely if Link Type is Peer?

And for the web server while at site connected via browser to the repeater, the fields are grayed out. Does anyone know how to access the grayed out fields?
