I just heard that Talbot Law tgids will become fully encrypted some time between 8/5-8/7. This certainly applies to Talbot Sheriff Office and allied agencies (Oxford PD, SMPD), not sure about Easton PD but it's a fair guess it will since dispatch is handled by Talbot Center. State Police Barracks I (Easton) probably not, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Boo....

MSP will likely remain unencrypted - the Princess Anne Barracks isn't, even though the Somerset County Sheriff is encrypted. The fetish wrt encryption by sheriffs in this state is notable, and voters should take note.

It's being pitched as a safety measure due to recent high profile incidents. In other words, by being publicly accessible the authorities have no control over messaging. We can thank QA Co for leading the way with this trend on the 'shore.

Caroline - 12032 - Units calling "DES" (Department of Emergency Services). Appeared to be Paramedic Units operating on it. Maybe DES OPS or a Training Channel?

Also heard a NPS Assateague Federal Ranger testing on 7565 East Park Ops. Good to see them get radios/talkgroup access for FiRST!

Hmmm. interesting. Although Park Rangers enforce laws and regulations, they are not part of the Natural Resources Police. Maybe it's a Ranger or Forestry TG?

Is the VHF EDACS system still operational?

Cecil’s EDACS system is still on. The police talk groups for some reason are still being transmitted on it Although they are claiming they have switched over to First. DNR and the park rangers were never on the old system.

I have previously logged 14216 earlier this summer. Definitely a Park Ops channel but which one, I have no idea.
I always wonder about Elk Neck State Park.. Fairly large operation in Cecil County.. Boat Ramps,Camping sites etc.
I know they got State Park Rangers there.Course they may show up on Harford County site being just across Sussky water from there or
even down into Kent county.

Until all the mobiles are replaced, I'd expect the PD patch's to continue. Possibly another month
They've slowly been rolling them out, Mostly Sheriffs and some EMS units so far..

Perhaps it's been previously mentioned somewhere... Does anyone know if Cecil will be maintaining the VHF conventional frequencies? I haven't heard a dispatch on 155.5275 since the switch to FIRST..

The UHF Med Channels will be maintained by the state. I was *thinking* that the VHF freqs would become inputs for a DVRS system in the future.

I'm hearing TG 7541 referred to as DNR North SP Call not East as posted in the DB

Hmm, I would of thought they'd keep them as backup CYA.
Surely the NIFOG's they have licensed are in their radios
Just wondered if anybody was hearing anything on em'?

There are undoubtably errors in the RRDB, particularly wrt to FIRST, both because it's a new system, and that TGs can be reassigned by the agency. DNR has been a puzzle, but it's coming together slowly. If you've confirmed an error or a new use, by all means submit the change.

AFAIK, the UHF Med channels are still the primary means to contact hospitals by radio, and I hear them in use whenever I enable them in a radio.

Not necessarily - I believe it really depends on where you are located and what radio facilities are available. At least in the Mid-Shore counties, the primary method of consult is via FiRST 7R4MEDxx and the old UHF system is just a backup. (Can't remember the last time we used it). The advantage of using 7R4 is that the consult can be conducted from anywhere using just the portable the medic is already carrying.
