Whoa! Just heard a tone and looked around the room -- my PSR800 was alerting for a Winter Storm Warning in Adams County PA tomorrow night (heavy snow).....

Earlier, I went ahead and set the SAME code of all zeroes and weather priority---

It works (when they send them...)!

EDIT: Just got the alert now for Frederick County as well.... 4-6" of snow.

Just got another but missed the County...

Was there an announcement for AA County specifically? I didn't get that one as far as I know but just verified my settings for Priority Ch 1 (162.4) and AA FIPS enabled in SAME 1 and 000000 enabled in SAME 10.

The alert went off twice. I didn't hear the message from the first, but the second one just after the first was talking about Carroll County.

I got three in a short period of time (keep in mind I have 0000000 enabled). The first was Adams PA, then Frederick and a county in VA. That one was interrupted by a 3rd one for a County I couldn't make out (could have been Carroll).

I've been set to AA only and heard nothing all day. Just changed to all counties.

Just got a WSW alert for DC, PG, and AA on Baltimore NWS radio using Anne Arundel FIPS, programmed for Severe weather watches and warnings. I think Arlingto, Falls Church and Alexandria were also included.

Mine went off too. Not set for AA specifically. Heard a lot of areas around the DC beltway. Was not sure AA was included but it looks like it should be.

Two alerts on the same day. One around 9am Winter Weather Advisory. Second at about 1130 am... cancelled advisory and issued Winter Weather Warning until 3am Monday 3/2/15. Both from 162.400 Baltimore.

Yep, I got them also. I decided a couple weeks ago to not use any FIPS codes. That way I will get alerts for the entire area.

You might change your mind during thunderstorm season

My FIPS is set for AACo, and seems to be working properly now. Last summer, I was getting alerts for crap out in WVa in the middle of the night. I was unpopular.

Yep, I got them also. I decided a couple weeks ago to not use any FIPS codes. That way I will get alerts for the entire area.

I ended up doing this too, but maus is right. I'm going to narrow it to AA County only again before Spring. The thing goes off constantly telling of thunderstorms down in Virginia if you leavr it open for all alerts.

I was getting so few recently I decided to open it up to make sure its still working.

My WX radio has been going crazy over the past hour or so...

Yep. Getting alerts about every 10 minutes. I set it back to just AA County a few hours ago when it started going nuts.

Got one on my cell phone also that initially made me think it was something about to hit -- never had that happen before -- it was just a delayed Thunderstorm Warning notice. The heavy stuff had already passed through.

Counted 5 or 6 I think for thunderstorms, tornado, and flooding. I also got 2 on my phone. One for the tornado and one for the flooding.
Using Weatherbug, and I think that was the source of the alarming phone alerts. I got all of them on the phone but the two mentioned above were accompanied by emergency tones.

Wx radio got a good workout Tuesday with the fast moving thunderstorms that did most of their damage north of Baltimore.
Had one set to AA county only and another set with no limits on territory.
There were 4-5 alerts for the AACO only radio and approximately 3 times that for the no limits radio.

I think I going to reset my WX alerts. I get far too many / repetitive Severe Thunderstorm Warnings even when the radio is set just for Anne Arundel County. Changing it to Tornado Warnings only.
