Just an observation I recently noticed that Mayfair Mall public safety appears to be patched into there WiSPN Talk groups since the radio IDs aren't changing when different radios key up, I'm wondering if they have changed to a different system and are patched so Wauwatosa police can still monitor? I know they did use XTS2500s for a long time and maybe due to cost they decided to change to something else

Greetings...

You beat me to it. They have are moving to 463.6500. It is DMR with Color Code of 15. I am wondering if they eventually going to turn their maintenance channel (463.7250) and 463.6500 into Capacity Plus type system.

They must of started doing this only a few weeks ago because I noticed the audio on WiSPN was much louder for them.

It would make logical sense to keep the patch. Tosa has a regular presence at MAYFAIR so the patch will speed things up when problems come up. I do notice that the current security people don't follow the strict radio protocol as they did years ago.

I'd be interested in what they are now using radio wise. Back when I was one of their dispatchers in 2013-2014, they had a mix of XTS-1500 AN/BN's and XTS-2500's on the old Type II system, and switched to P25 long after I left.

The security director at the time I was there was very strict on radio protocol. I would constantly have to chastise officers on radio etiquette all the time. He has since left so I am not surprised their radio traffic has declined.

They went to Kenwood NXDN, from what i know they have the patch still active and a bridge from NXDN to one of the Wauwatosa channels (Either DISP or TAC1)

Just got back from Mayfair. The officers portables are the Kenwood NX-3300 Model 1’s (plain face radio) with the KMC-70 series microphones.

Housekeeping and Facilities are no longer using the Hytera radios either from when Mayfair first went DMR and have went back to Kenwood with the NX-3300 Model 1’s as well.
