No. I am looking for the meaning of the channel names (eg. 7A2, 7B14, etc.). How do I know which channels cover my area? For example, which talkgroups cover Station 3?
Close. I am trying to figure out which channel names cover my geographic area (7A1, 7B14, etc.). There are about a billion to choose from.Do you mean Battalions? Wiki has a chart that looks up-to-date for the most part.

Talkgroups are not assigned by geographic area. All incidents are dispatched on 7A2. The main operations talkgroup is 7A1 and an alternate for slightly more complex incident that don’t require a series of talkgroups go on 7A3. For structure fires or incidents similar that could need to expand talkgroup wise utilize a series starting with 7A4 - 7A6, 7A8 - 7A10 and so on. The talkgroups that have an H are for hospitals ie 7Hx with the exception of 7H1 7H2 and 7H3 the field units transmit with encryption for all other hospital talkgroups.Close.
