Lately I've heard no activity on the Hopewell PD 453.375 frequency. Have they moved to the County TRS?

Yes they have. Caught them on TG 410 on Saturday - in the clear. Also Lawrence Twp police are on the system on TG 413 in the clear as well - for now.

I have the Princeton University P25 system programmed in with the Mercer Co P25 system (same band with no apparent overlap in talkgroups). In the Princeton area on Saturday caught encrypted activity on TG 201 which is Princeton University Police talkgroup on the Princeton University system (listed as non-encrypted in the DB). Didn't get a chance to see what frequency it was on so I can't confirm which system it was on. Anyone in that area able to verify which system the talkgroup was on?

Also, are there any plans to merge the Princeton University P25 system into the Mercer County P25 system? They are both 500 MHZ systems so I don't see why they couldn't.

Mercer TRS

Princeton U is not on the new TRS for the county that I am aware of. They are on they're own. I don;t have any knowledge of the radio system at Princeton U, however I am very familiar with the new Mercer County System. All of the county police agencies, Ewing Hopewell & Lawrence police have been active on the system and are no longer on the old UHF bands.

As far as the county fire departments are concerned, Hamilton Township Fire Departments are making the switch on Saturday, November 1st (tomorrow) @ 0800 hours. Hamilton is the first to go at this point. I would suspect and I'm not sure on this that the rest of the county would go with in a month or so including EMS. EMS will NOT have they're own talk group. Although it is not confirmed yet, I believe that EMS will operate in similar fashion to the fire departments and they're talk groups and it will be assigned during dispatch.

This is about all I know for now. I will post further as I know more.

Smitty, Thanks for the update. Are you aware if the other municipalities (Robbinsville, East And West Windsor. Hightstown, Hamilton and Princeton PDs) will be moving over? On the Fire and Ems side will all stations in the county move over?
Thanks.....

Anyone familiar with how to get Mercer's system programed in to a BC250D? I've got NJSPD and Bucks Co. both programmed in and working fine but can't seem to get Mercer's system to work.

That scanner can decode digital voice, but is not capable of tracking ANY P25 sysyem (which is what the Mercer County system is).

kdean7, maybe you can use uniden commander or procom96 to control the radio and monitor the control channel to make it a 9600bps trunktracker

Mercer County TRS Talkgroups

Does anyone know who is on talk groups 350, 363, 364, 414, 416? These are being picked up with the simulcast system.

Monitoring with a Uniden BCD996XT and broadcasting through Broadcastify with ProScan software.

I've noticed the signal for the TRS system is quite weak in Hopewell Boro. As in none existent. Using my BCD436HP I have strong a signal at my house in Pennington and can pick up all the TG's, but as soon as I pass Van Dyke Road coming into Hopewell the signal and transmissions stop. Anyone else notice this?

Sorry for the delay. You should be able to program it from the keypad.

Go to the bank where you want to program it. Then do the following:
<PROG>
<TRUNK>
<MODE> until it says Motorola
<FUNC> <4>
go up/down until it says 9600 CC Mode / Table, <ENT>
<FUNC> <2>
Input 500.4500 as the base, 0 as the offset, and 12.5 as the step. <ENT>

Make sure you have the two currently-known control channel frequencies (500.45 & 508.4875) programmed into that bank and their mode set to MO. You do not have to program in all the system frequencies, though if the control channel changes to something other than the two known then you won't get a thing until the new control channel is added o your scanner.

Make sure you have programmed in all the talkgroup IDs you are interested in and that their lists are on, or that you have that bank set to open.

Good luck, let me know if it works.

Jim

I'm currently getting a decent decode rate on the system with a band opening. Picked up a new TG of 330 with radio ID 8043601 encrypted on Pro96Com.

Anyone hearing TalkGroup 313 know who that is? UID 8043004 checked in as Unit 2 for a radio check and UID 8043009 responded to them. There has been other activity as well mentioning things like PE building and Trenton Fire being on property performing training. I was thinking maybe it could be The College of NJ. Anyone know anything?

I believe that talkgroup belongs to Mercer County Community College Security.

alot of activity on one of the prosecutors talkgroups 367 around 4 to 7pm. many different radio ids so i don't think it was a rolling surveillance, if it was that you would hear one radio ids over and over with brief transmissions and some silence in between transmissions. probably a stakeout. they are already encrypted, what more can they do?

even though they are encrypted. can know if something is happening nearby if you listen to the frequencies with 2700 in the units column wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/licenseFreqSum.jsp?licKey=2725875&pageNumToReturn=2

listen to the freqs in attenuated mode with a stub antenna like for nascar

Has anyone heard about the Mercer Trunk system being reprogrammed to move the medical people to a different channel?
