MHP in District 9 has begun to utilize each of the counties they work in Hi Band repeaters a lot more recently, most noticeably Pike, Lincoln, Jefferson, Lawrence, and Claiborne Counties. Have not heard em on Wilkinson's yet,.. but would assume they are using it too with the problems District 9 is having with thier ancient Lo Band system. I also expect that as soon as the new system for Amite County comes online, they will use it too.

As for Amite's new stuff,.. here is the most recent info:
Amite County's NEW System:
Pending Level 2-
FCC Callsign: WNKQ609
Repeater-
F-1: Input - 153.7475 Output - 155.2575
F-2: Input - 153.7625 Output - 155.8275
F-3: Input - 153.8150 Output - 158.8950

Amite County Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management, and all County Agencies will be using this system.
F-1 will be Sheriff's Office
F-2 will be Emergency Management
F-3 will be County DPW

I KNOW THAT MHP IN SIMPSON COUNTY UTILIZE THE TRS FOR SIMPSON SO QUITE OFTEN. THE TROOPERS IN RANKIN COUNTY UTILIZE THE RANKIN COUNTY TRS USING COMMON LAW CHANNEL. OFF THE TOPIC DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO TRUNK LTR ON A RADIO SHACK PRO 2067. I AM TRYING TO TRUNK SIMPSON COUNTY.

I program the frequencies for the LTR by the LCN # and the assigned talkgroups and the mode (FM,PL,etc) to LTR my PRO-2067. This seems to work for me.

The same works in the PRO-92.. you don't have to do it by LCN's in the RS scanners,... but it micht help.... you have to set every LTR trunking chan to LTR Mode,.. no delay on each chan and to find new ID's use it in open mode I beleive, and I also will be looking real close to the Simpson LTR TRS.... I am gonna run all six chans as LTR,.. though the sixth was removed on the db here. As to MHP on the Rankin system,.. they have thier own talkgroup and use it as well as commonlaw. They are planning on adding a second MHP chan on all the TRS's they operate on. They have two on the Warren County Motorola ASTRO VSELP system, and are trying to get a tg on the Hinds ASTRO 3600 system for interop directly with HCSO. As far as I know MHP has at least one patch, or TG on every countywide TRS in usage in MS, or is the works of getting one. And seeing just how much trouble the old VHF Lo Statewide Nets are having this year,.. I really forsee the push for a new State Radio System in Hi Band or even the proposed TRS getting "fresh blood"!
Both District 7, and District 9's systems have been plauged with trouble this year. Seems to me that the state would be better off, and spend less on a new system than they are constantly spending on the repair and upkeep on the ancient one now in use. maybe next year the Senate, and House Committees on Public Safety will get the message we need a new radio system,... (If they can get past the in house bickering lol, not to mention they let F&W get their new sat system, even though they don't have eneough funding to keep the state parks open yet spending on a third state run golf course..wierd how that works ain't it?) (and bugs have been put in the Senate Ways and Means, and Senate Oversight Committees ears so now the waiting game continues)

On another note the Copiah County Board of Supervisors has been given official requests to consider seeking funding through Department of Homeland Security grants for a Hi band system for the SO. Keyword used in the suggestion was INTEROPERABILITY with all the local agencies, which are ALL on Hi Band. The upgrading, and modernization of the County's Dispatch Center is underway, and the new computers and phone system should be in place by winter 05/spring 06. (y'all know how slow county government can be.)
