Might as well add to the list:
U units are Motor Carrier Division units. Each district has 2-5 of them that work alongside MDOT doing commercial inspections.
Z units are K-9s (yeah, the dogs have numbers too).
The only letters that have no designations are I, O, Q, and Y.
