Is there any DOD/Military activity on 380MHz Trunked in the S.E. Michigan area, particularly Macomb County? If so is it encrypted or in the clear.

385.0125, not hearing anything on it. Keeps bouncing back & forth between NFM & DATA! I'm at 12 & Bunert.
395.0125 sounds like a stuck mike?

A TACAMO had flown by, just south of the state line, around that time. Could that be sending out something that your scanner is receiving? (Command post type stuff.)

I saw that on ADSB. It wasn't a BURN CH.
Right now 385.0125 sounds like a control channel from my house in Detroit on my BC785D. The digital radio is in the car.

Lots of activity on 307.775 this afternoon. Sounds like some air-to-ground practice. Calling out targets, looking for artillery, etc. Have not been able to get a callsign or a location.

I just walked into my radio and they were active but I just caught the tail end, in in Macomb Twp.

So this is my first time posting about mil air, and i'm just getting started in learning all this, so bear with me, and maybe someone can correct/shed light on this:

274.45,

Around 7:30pm, "99", "Steel 64" and one other call sign heard, doing what sounded like air refueling practice or training? with a finale of a practice break away as a last exercise. I caught a registration number of 59-1504 Boing KC-135T on flightradar24 on my phone, so I assume one of those were that guy. This was so cool to stumble into tonight. Total pick me up as I've been fighting a loosing battle on and SDR tonight...

Hi Hanlonmi06
Welcome to the wonderful & addictive world of Milair scanning.
You are correct that is an Air Refuelling freq.
274.450 is AR-218 & AR-220 Primary. STEEL is the common callsign for Pittsburgh KC-135's. I believe DECOY 99 a C-17 was his receiver. Flightradar24.com has just recently been tracking KC-135's. You should check out, Home - Serving the Flight Tracking Enthusiast - ADS-B Exchange
It doesn't track all military aircraft.

Try these AR freqs (Air Refuelling)
274.250 AR-220 AR-218 Prime.
282.700 AR-220 Secondary & AR-219, 218, 217.
283.900 AR-217 Prime.
235.100 AR-206L Prime. Central NY to central northern Lake Erie.
348.900 AR-206H Prime. NY to Lake Erie.
338.800 AR-STEELHEAD MOA in the thumb of MI.
341.750 sometimes used as an AR- freq, but also used as an A/A (Air 2 Air) by passing B-1's & B-2's.

Wonderful and addicting to be certain! I have been mining your posts on this thread like a junkie, lol. And thank you for that reply, rounding out some of the details. I have every intention of getting started on ADS-B as soon as I win the battle of getting this SDR things figured out. As it turns out, whilst mired in that battle I did hear more traffic on 274.45 again, plinked around 'till I found another KC-135 on the phone app, only this time I caught JEEP-32 there and also caught him on 132.025, actually heard the call sign being spoken on the DTW freg....so awesome...I am hooked!!
