It could be. In the very beginning, I spent $300 on google ads and didn't sell a single receiver. I'll have to start thinking about alternatives.

Todd, just so you know... I've been a "BTT evangelist" ever since I got my P25RX-II. In several other forums where people are having simulcast issues I always post up with "don't forget about the P25RX series of receivers," especially when people say the only receivers capable of dealing with simulcast are the Uniden SDS line and the Unication pagers. Keep it up my friend... you'll be OK!

Todd,
Sorry to hear sales are not working in your favor. I will say that, having been an early supporter (P25RX), I feel somewhat letdown. I realize component shortages prevent you from building new P25RX and P25RX-II models, but I don't understand why the software has been ignored. I remember you saying we would not be left behind, but nothing substantial has come along (e.g. UI improvement, being able to save user entered info in the Search DB tab, feature enhancements) nor have we ever seen a good user manual as promised. It is just my impression that when you release a new model, all activity suddenly shifts to that and nothing get ported back to previous models. I have no intention of buying a new receiver every year, so there is that.

One other thing I will say is that, subjectively, I think my P25RX is losing sensitivity (I have no test equipment to verify this objectively.) Two systems in my area, one of which is fringe, the P25RX is pretty much deaf with. But, they both come in fine on my Unication G5. My P25RX usually sits unused at this point as the only system it receives now is my local system.

Best wishes for the future of your products. At this point my G5 is my radio of choice.

I'm looking forward to hopefully trying this new product out. The original works pretty good, the audio is as good as my SDS100 so this should be interesting.

I apologize that I have not been able to do more. I've done what I can. Looking back, it appears that there were 30-40 releases for the original model last year. That includes adding support for Broadcastify calls and RDIO Scanner. You are correct. I haven't delivered on many of the things I hoped to get done yet.

@btt I am still using my original p25rx daily in my truck with the Wio terminal. Zero issues. I can decode P25 systems down to -120 dBm without any problem. If anyone has an issue with their new or old @btt radio you are only an email away to help resolve customer issues. Outstanding customer support. You are great engineer. Thank you for hanging around in this hobby.

I agree with @FreqNout. My original P25RX is still just as great as ever, no issues with it. Mine is running 24/7 and has been for the majority of the last year. Any issues I have had have been taken care of, including a hardware issue around 6 months ago which Todd handled better and far faster than I would have even hoped for. Since then the unit has been running nonstop with the exception of a couple hours here or there. Todd's customer service has been outstanding, and my original P25rx is one of my favorite pieces of radio gear that I own. I do also own a MicroP25RX, however time constraints have prevented me from using it as much as I would like, however it is still a great unit. To any of the people that may be less than 100% satisfied customers, feel free to send the equipment my way, Ill be more than happy to take it off your hands.

@btt offered to look at your rx. Sounds like an issue that could be fixed. Either way, enjoy the radio of your choice. Life is short. Have fun.

It probably isn't the receiver. With a 20 dB drop, I would highly suspect the antenna connector. Sometimes the male pin on the SMA connectors will recede and not make good contact.

Firmware version 2023-01-19-02 is available. After updating to this version please report if you notice any significant changes (good or bad). Thanks!
I have been running the latest MicroP25RX FW 2023-01-23-02 and the MicroP25RXMon app on Windows 10 with no issues here.

Same here. I have posted on multiple forum threads regarding the BTT units being another option. I think once the word gets out there and the newest model comes out, it will take off. With Uniden getting sold, Whistler not looking like a new model is coming out, and little to no Unication support in the past couple of years for the G series, BTT will be the survival of the fittest. My P25RX-II is still humming along.

I have been following all posts for either the P25Rx or the microP25Rx for the past several months. None of the systems I follow have simulcast issues at present, however there are A couple that may go phase 2 in the not to distant future. Is there a listing I have missed of what frequencies and modes each model is capable of receiving at present?

Simulcast is not an issue for any of the BTT products. The frequency ranges are covered in the user manuals. The original P25RX model can receive P25 P1/P2, NXDN-4800, DMR. The P25RX-II can receive P25 P1/P2, NXDN-4800, DMR, and FMNB. Currently, the MicroP25RX can receive P25 P1/P2 and does support several different scanning modes for P25 systems. It may support more modes in the future.

Todd,
As mentioned in my previous thread, the connector on my antenna feed line is fine, it works perfectly on my G5. Also, I am very familiar with SMA connectors and the center pin is not pushed in. Are you saying the female connector in the P25RX may be suspect? I don't see any physical damage to it.

Todd,
A bit more information. I opened my P25RX and the center pin SMA soldering looks somewhat suspect. The is a large area of the center pin that the solder has not wettted to. Is this lead-free solder? If it is not, then I will reflow it (I have plenty of experience with soldering, but I do not have any lead-free solder. Mixing lead-free and leaded solder is not a good idea.) Thanks.

Hard to say without inspecting it. Problems with the male side of an SMA connector are fairly common which is why I suggested that as a possibility. As I mentioned before, you can always send the receiver in to be inspected. Normally I pay for return shipping. These days, I will probably need you to pay for shipping both directions. I won't charge for time to repair / inspect it. I don't think you are going to get that kind of offer from anyone else.
