Hahaha I had em at 60 on the signal and full bars on the scanner. Didn't see anything but a bird. Ah well. Got a Galaxy right overhead about 20 mins before at least.

Hehe. I get cranky when its cloudy, but its hard to be that way when there's no clouds. I had a fair chance and scanner and a signal meter for them that was pegged but I somehow overlooked em. Its funny how our eyes can detect motion. I kept locking onto a circling seagull in the same direction and elevation as the track appears from my deck.

Sounded like they were having some difficulties with the connect. Some fuel leaks on the receiver at the receptacle?

Sure were. They kept reducing the amount of pumps online in an effort to keep the pressure down. Had only transferred 18K when they were over me. I heard them for a whillllle afterward too, they kept it up a long time.

The Alpha Jet cloud seems to be returning to YHZ for a visit. Have detected at least 3 at the moment.. Positively busy overhead!

Reviewing the recordings...they were out for over 6 hours. Those Alpha Jets are pretty fuel efficient.

Wow. That is good. I wrote Disc Air Defence Svcs yesterday to try and get the registrations of their jets. I explained why, not sure whether that will help or hurt my chances . I have an alert set for AJET type now but I don't always get that filled in in PP till they've been detected for a couple mins. Reg seems to appear as soon as they're detected. I went through my logs and picked out 7 but I'm missing 9-10. Hopefully they'll send it, will see.

Showing position too. I hadn't considered they might be a tanker, I just took it to be people transport whenever I've picked them up.

You were right I was wrong...Apparently this is an Airbus leased from the Portuguese (Air Luxor, HiFly) to the Belgians for troop transport. Sorry for the bad info.

Why not just go to airliners.net and get the registrations? Probably one of each uploaded to that sight.

Tried that but I didn't get the complete list because they were repeating enough that it was easier to at least ask the company and see what they say. I was pointed in the direction of a Govt site in the meantime which has a complete list, but I am still interested to see what DADS says. They wrote back and said my request wasn't odd since they're made up of aviation enthusiasts, but the person who would normally handle that is out of the office for a few days. Once she's back we will see.
