Yes...and even stranger is he was using the HOIST80 callsign on the radio.

Bunch of BOBBY KC-135 Tankers went west today 1200z-1300z BOBBY 81,91 both at FL240.
BOBBY 82,92 also at higher and all tankers seemed to stop at Offutt around 1635z

I happened to catch a bit of the dreaded 'number of souls on board' statement to Moncton Center that night.

Logged it on a local flight down here last Month..

Operation REASSURANCE Update

For those of you following this exercise, there was some Air activity in CYD703 late this evening.
The Discovery Air Defence Services Alpha Jets are in the area using their usual Cheetah51/52/53/54 callsigns. The controller seems to be using 313.1750 and the jets have used 333.300 for A-A.

There appears to be a flight of Fighters inbound from the west due Halifax at approximately 1150Z. Freqs in use are 293.000 and possibly fighter A-A on 267.6250 Coronet FoxtrotPrimary 289.700 and 268.400
Tankers are BLUE48 (62-3580, KC-135R) and BLUE49 (61-0313)
Fighters over Yarmouth at 1130Z

Really! Interesting. There's a bit of blue still here. Hope they're faster than the clouds, maybe I can ID em.

Booo, clouds/fog rolled in from opposite direction. They were pretty close though judging by radio clarity. I didn't catch what frequency I heard them on but it looks to have been 339.400. (Actually maybe not. Apparently it's stopping on that freq for nothing because of the low squelch setting). I think I just heard "I seeeee you!" though, hehehe.

289.700 definitely in use as you indicated Howard.
