I wonder if it is a test object for Glare 08 which is operating very close to it. Or if it is an object/target for Noble exercise that seems to be operating.

I wonder if your theory about the "mystery object" being tied in with GLARE08/RC-12 Guardrail testing might be correct. This looks like quite a coincidence if not...

Yeah definitely seems to be the bottom of the track - but with modern navigation systems you do not need a physical object to track off of....just put in the coordinates and hit enter.

I see B752 #09-0018 out for a run..
This tail in service yet or still occasional backup?

It has been active as SAM 46 and MC46 for quite a while....most recent as MC46 on January 2

However it did fly from Greenville Texas to Andrews on the 27 of January - so wonder if it was getting more equipment installed or had a technical issue that needed to be addressed.

Yes indeed!

Okay yeah then that would be east -> west traffic flow. Since KPHL has a north south runway 17/35 and the 737 and 757 can use it - do not want to confuse anyone ...... be even better if they landed 27L since it would be closer to NJ shore of the Delaware. Since they usually go to near the Atlantic Aviation hangar area (if that is what they are still called) then 27R or 17/35 is better.

I haven' noticed VP usage on the 0015-18 planes that much if at all recently, but I could be wrong.

Since October 2022 VPOTUS has only used 98-0001, 98-0002, 99-0003, 99-0004 C32 and just recently 02-0042 (C40)
I need to find my pictures of the C32 wheels and brakes from my previous work career. They are on one of these hard drives.

Well as I mentioned earlier I contacted someone about the target and even included details of transponder code location etc with maps.

Here is the reply.................

Good afternoon Terry,

We do work frequently with the boat station out of Barnegat Light. I can’t confirm whether that was us or not though. I can tell you I was just out there hoisting today off Barnegat and nothing was out of the ordinary.

Thanks for your concern. I hope this helps.

Respectfully,

Casey

Oh, jeez, you're absolutely correct, east to west. Sorry about that - I've been looking at Dulles landing/takeoff patterns because I want to go down and photograph 747/388s, and therefore had north and south on the mind. Thanks for correcting me! :)
