Since they used the AIM-9X sidewinder someone pointed out in post that the large solar arrays just above package prob had
the largest heat signature and was where missile seemed to strike.. I noticed the solar panel bits flying all over.
One news report says this was first ever F-22 shoot down.. Course look at it this way,The F-22 scares the heck out of anything flying
so does the job mostly by not firing :)

Latest DOD news says..
A senior military official said on Saturday that the Chinese spy balloon was shot down at 2:39 p.m. on Saturday by one air-to-air A9X sidewinder missile fired by an F-22 Raptor that took off from Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.
The aircraft fired the missile at an altitude of 58,000 feet while the balloon was hovering at an altitude of between 60,000 and 65,000 feet.

I guess the F-22 can hang with the U-2 for a short while :)

Working way back East.. Must have done a lot of work on this one and not that old.
Seems Boeing did do some mods to the triple 3 from Pax River logged last Thursday..
