I went over the KILG to photograph President Biden returning to DC at just after 11:30 am EDT. Interesting flight of three HMX-1 with 2 VH-3Ds and one of the new VH-92As, accompanied a few minutes later by the two MV-22s. I was mostly concentrating on close-ups but here's a frame with both types of aircraft.

More evening flying for the Vermont F-35's.

1439 local DRAGO-51 on Balt apch 317.425>Pot acph 279.575. talking about Arlington flyover then right back to Atlantic City.
Maybe for USAF Col Kittinger at 3PM. He once held altitude sky dive record at 102,800 feet for many years.
Joseph Kittinger - Wikipedia

Rare HMX-1 call on 318.900 Ops says 30 minutes out.

DRAGO-51 on way back to A/C said they were picking up a strong ELT on UHF. Assume 243.000.
Said it got weaker and gone as they moved East. Maybe Army chopper on ground at Aberdeen perhaps.

1725 local AF-2 #99-0004 landing Philly airport from Pittsburgh.. VP anxious to get started :)

90 day road trip to Centcom area for the New Hampshire KC-46's coming up soon.

All of the US Coast Guard MH-65D choppers are now officially MH-65E choppers.
May take a while for all the online data bases to catch up..

Got treated to unexpected light show this am around 5:30 local.. Seems that Space x rocket launch came Northeast just offshore. As I was walking into work the first stage just separated and brightest rocket launch I have ever seen up this way.. :)
Yes very bright and probably due to sun angle just below horizon. Followed it with my eyes almost to northeast horizon. Couple of snaps from my video and stills of the rocket plume reflection sunlight. The last picture is of Polaris Dawn with 2nd stage outshining Sirius the brightest star (which is the white dot to the left of rocket plume). Pictures taken with iPhone camera.

New callsign for me today BLACKWOLF-21 single E-11A #12-9506 was passing by Dover today at FL410
awfully quiet coms with Dover Ops 349.400 wanted a phone patch back to their Ops..
Ended up asking about a relay after negative on phone patch.. Having some base ops com problems.
Hard to believe a high tech Com plane like this would need UHF phone patches..
It continued Northeast from Warner Robins from the 430th EECS. (Expeditionary Electronic Communications Squadron)

Air Res for later tonight up in Canada on AR-62 East for 0200z-0515z FL-230-FL 270.
Maybe a Eastbound BTF mission of some type on 9/11... hmm... May see some tankers head up that way tonight before hand.

The Hurricane Hunters are dodging a possible Tropical Storm to Texas :)
