OT - One more shot from yesterday's passage of USS John F. Kennedy's final voyage, here passing beneath the Delaware Memorial Bridge just after 4:30 pm. Incredibly challenging photo conditions all day - it was either snowing, dark, or both  I do kind of like the moodiness, though...

Was able to watch it pass through the lower Delaware Bay and monitor ship traffic as well. Lots of vessels providing a wide berth to eliminate any heavy wake. I took picture with the roof cam but you can only see the lights....

I use Shipplotter connected to a dAISy AIS unit connected to an antenna on the roof and display the data on my computer. The software feeds data up to MarineTraffic as well....

Shipplotter ShipPlotter
AIS recevier dAISy AIS Receiver - The Original
MarineTraffic MarineTraffic: Global Ship Tracking Intelligence | AIS Marine Traffic
(that view in MarineTraffic is centered on my feed area).

The final trip for Biden as the 46th President is scheduled for Sunday and should be aboard 92-9000. The return will probably be the final time callsign SAM46 is used as well...On a personal note - It has been a great year for me in terms of credentials and access, I doubt this will continue in the new administration.

OT: Just going to SC to heap praise on the State politicians who helped him get elected in the first place.
That is kind of a weird last tribute.. Looking forward to SAM-46 small plane to KILG Monday instead :)

I just don't have the extra money to make the trip, I'd love to be in Charlotte when he landed.

OT: Trump announced his selection for Under Secretary of the Air Force, pretty nice promotion for a Lt Colonel.

"I am pleased to announce that Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Lohmeier will be the next United States Under Secretary of the Air Force.
Matt is a former fighter pilot, and Space Force Squadron Commander, who has devoted his life to serving our Great Nation. He is a proud graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy."

Thank you so much for sharing information with us. I know the number of encounters I've had with Air Force One aircraft over the last four years would be a smaller number for sure without your always timely info (y)
