Yeah the trip is about 6 hours for a normal ship - this will be a bit slower so will be dark by the time it arrives in the lower bay

should be visible on this feed if you look ar the proper time. Not sure how far the TV helicopters will following them...

Here are the escort tugs
I remember when they towed it up river years ago they had this giant Ocean going tug towing along
with smaller tugs to help steer it. None seen yet but assume when this leaves the Del Bay will have the huge
tug in the lead again :)

the small blue and white boat on the live feed is holding the tow line so they can transfer to the ocean going tug. I saw a Navy tug earlier but cannot seem to find it now on the river.

Mark - here you go - this vessel will do the towing - shows destination as Brownsville TX. The SpaceX coverage cameras at Boca Chica may cover the arrival of the Kennedy since it will go up the channel like the SpaceX components do when they arrive by ship

OT - I just got home in New Castle. I know a good spot to photograph the carrier as it passes under the Delaware Memorial Bridge - hopefully there won't be too much snow in the air. Then I'll head back into New Castle proper to get some local flavor images ;)
getting ready to hook the tow line to the Laney Chouest....helo back in the air maybe some new video soon

Just curious (nosey ;)). I know DC ANG F-16s will become MD ANG unit. Haven't heard anything about the other DC ANG unit, the 201st AS (Boxer). Has anyone heard anything about them? Will they stay a DC ANG unit?

DC won't let everything go, they want to keep something. But as far as I've heard it is just some (or possibly all) the F-16s.

Trump has announced Dr. Troy Meink will be the next United States Secretary of the Air Force.

Troy currently serves as the Principal Deputy Director of the National Reconnaissance Office, and began his career as a KC-135 Tanker Navigator, and later, as a test engineer for missile defense systems.
