For those of you fellow monitors in KY, check out 143.625, 140.5, 140.2, or better yet, search between 138-144 am in .25 steps. Good a/a milair fighter action. Possibly on one of the ranges in ILL, IN, or OH. I haven't got a c/s yet....monitored in Warren County

Hey David,
GA ANG doesn't fly B-1B's anymore. The PEACH cs you hear are E-8C JStars a/c. They are still out of Robins AFB, GA though.

Some pretty good air/air action with fighter a/c on 143.625/am. Have not heard any callsigns. "Cranking 290", "Hostile", "Check Six", "Spike West". Lots of good a/a terminology ; "Hook left"

Monitored here in Bowling Green

Intermitent SSB transmissions on 138.4/am. Possibly satellite transmissions using frequency hopping or Quick-Timing. May be someone with an AOR or an Icom with SSB abilitiy can give some insight.

AR-315 Active

This afternoon (Monday 12/04) I have heard some aerial refueling taking place in AR-315 over Kentucky. This was a great monitoring session as I caught three tail numbers being passed. The 434th ARW out of Grissom ARB was doing the refueling of STING aircraft from the 180th FW out of Toledo and a C-5B from Dover AFB showed up as well using the callsign BOLAR 70.

295.4000 AR-315 Primary

MASH 81 Tail# 60-0322
MASH 82 Tail #58-0076
BOLAR 70 Tail# 87-0027

Great catch Mark:

All the ARs running through Kentucky are usually pretty active, especially 315 and 111. I believe 455 runs up by your neck of the woods. I live right under 111 in Bowling Green and usually have a good visual when they make their turns back to the west. The ARs are usually the most active form of MilAir in Kentucky. I am currently out in MilAir heaven in Las Vegas, about 10 miles from Nellis AFB getting a load of action on the 396.

Just got back from a week out near Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. Talk about some milair activity. Wish some would drift back this way. Spent some time near the southern ranges of area 51. Lots of frequencies and callsigns. Watching and listening to ACMs and live bombing is amazing. We'll be going back in February to watch some Red Flag exercises. Time to get back to work and some southern Ky milair monitoring though.

NEADS/NorthEast Air Defense Sector activity on AICC 364.200 w/E3 AWACS, 552 AWACs, Tinker AFB, OK c/s DRAGNET VICTOR calling BANDSAW KILO, DRAGNET KILO and GOLIATH. The actual a/c callsign is usually SENTRY and the tactical c/s is DRAGNET or BANDSAW which is often referred to as the a/c backend or the air combat controller. I believe I got that right.

Good Listening

Yet another refueling observed over Bowling Green. OAKIE 81/KC135, unk ARS refueling SENTRY 50 /E3 552 ACW, Tinker AFB, OK on primary AR111 348.900 and with ZME on 124.275. Observed flight breakup over Bowling Green with an emergency seperation exercise. During the exercise you could see a short burst of fuel condensation when they seperated. Both cleared for a left turn. Great watching and monitoring.
