For those able to monitor the western part of the state the Ft Campbell range is again active. Currently ROPER 23 (C130/136AW of the TX ANG) communicating w/EAGLE Range Control on 285.625/am "Inbound and 6 min from chutes away at 12,500ft". They were also looking for an alternate Drop Zone frequency. They are working the Corrigador Drop Zone. Anyone have any info on the dropzone frequencies?

F22 RAPTORs are up on Lockheed Test freq a/a 142.20 with chase a/c. Giving speeds of .94mach, two good lights, gone supersonic at 2630/possibly minutes and seconds past the hour. At 2030 zulu they went subsonic. They are possibly in the Snowbird MOA in eastern Tennessee on a high speed route. Working Center freqs of 270.6/ZTL>354.05/ZTL>299.2/ZTL. Getting ready to go supersonic again. Anyone else getting this?

NIGHTSTAR / E8 JSTARS calling NIGHTHAWK 16 on JSTARs discrete 225.725. Also calling other unk c/s. Associated digital transmissions on 395.15 and 388.225. Special Use Airspace web site indicates a SPICA Orbit along AR315. I'm assuming this is a JSTARS orbit. It runs roughly from Owensboro to Campbellsville, KY.

CHALICE GULF calling DRAGNET VICTOR/ATC c/s SENTRY both E3 AWACs/552nd AWACs, Tinker AFB on AICC 364.200 asking if their track can be seen. Seems to be a lot of electronic surveillance exercises on-going involving both AWACs and JSTARs/c/s PEACH in the area. Lots of green communications (digital).

STARGATE/E8 JSTARS 93rd TS w/repeated calls to any station in the NET on 225.725. This is the backend controller's callsign or the battlestaff controller. The frontend or ATC callsign for this a/c is PEACH. Good signal in Bowling Green.

Lots of ACM and fighter a/c chatter on 240.35. Possibly the ranges in Southern OH and IN. Comms like Fox three/Spike north/hostile bogey. I have this frequency as the 123ACS from Cincinnatti/c/s BLUEASH.

David,

This is correct. They were in Brush Creek MOA. It was the 178th FW using the callsign
SLAM. Punch in 283.8000 they have been that a lot lately as well.

Thanks for the info on the frequency Mark. I will plug it in. I usually have a pretty good signal on the players if they are above 10k. 178th, F16s? I noticed an AWACs was in the vicinity during this, unfortunately, using a lot of green comms, maybe tied in tio the Brush Creek exercise?

Unk a/a fighter activity doing ACM, possibly in the ranges over in IN/OH. Lots of chatter on 140.200am and 143.625am. No call-signs yet. Anyone up closer to them for more info?

David,
Yes this is a weekly thing down here in north Georgia. They come off Dobbins ARB and head up just north of Chattanooga and then turn back south to over Alabama to work a area over lake Weiss in eastern Alabama. When they get over this lake area they cancel thier IFR and do VFR over the lake and head back to Dobbins. You are doing good to hear them up there. Look for 255.725 for thier A/A frequency if they are using Victor center freqs.

A/A activity on 140.200 and 143.625, possibly around the ranges in OH, IN. Sounds like some ACM going on.

So did anyone catch any A/A refuel activity when the Space Shuttle was on it's piggy back trip?

Rumor has it, it was scheduled to stop in Fort Campbell to be refueled. Does this hold any water?

It is at Fort Campbell due to inclement<sp> in Florida and will probably be there until the 4th. I found a link on one of the forums and it went to a flight tracker and shows the path and everything...pretty cool.

The thing came in too early for me and left way too early in the morning for me to listen but other posters on various mailing lists were listing 235.4 as the A/A between the lead C-9 and the STA (747). The T-38's use 235.4 as well for their A/A. I always have it plugged in but like i said i missed the action. Like i always do. Take care.

Air/Air range activity on 139.9. Sounds as though may be 2-3 fighters.

NIGHTSTAR / E8 JSTARs calling ROCK on 225.725. Advised skittle has failed and will not be able to enable link. Troubleshooting with techs on-board. **I believe this may be related to the JSTARs SPICA orbit that is depicted running NW-SE and just NE of Bowling Green**

For the MilAir monitors in Kentucky, you might make note of the change of frequencies for Air Refueling Route (AR315), which runs from E/central KY through NW KY. The new frequencies are 343.25/Primary and 236.65/Secondary. I have also submitted the change to RR in the KY Statewide Category for Military.
