Thanks Marshall: Most of the time the tankers and the receivers will remain joined up for a westbound flight on AR111 so we get to see them in their coordinated turns, either to the left or right, depending on other traffic or ATC, but occassionally they end their track over Bowling Green. Their block altitudes that they perform these operations are between FL250-290. Aircraft are usually limited to E3s/AWACs of the 552 ACW out of Tinker AFB and the supporting tankers from various squadrons, so not much variation in aircraft. With a clear sky we can usually catch the action.

For those that are monitoring now, at 1000hrs on 02/04/2007 CST, check out 364.200am/NORAD AICC channel for c/s STARGATE/E8c JSTARS with communications with BANDSAW Kilo/E3 AWACS aircraft/552 ACW Tinker AFB. BANDSAW is reloading terminal with crypto. Good signal here in Warren County.

STARGATE /E8 JSTARS in comms unk a/c in the clear but with occassional digital transmissions on 341.750. This is a known JSTARS frequency. Good signal here in BG. Usually with JSTARS around there will be AWACs also, using c/s DARKSTAR or BANDSAW.

STARGATE / E8 JSTARs working w/BANDSAW / E3 AWACS, 552nd ACW, Tinker AFB on AICC 364.200 recycling terminal and reloading crypto. STARGATE /aka PEACH 31 was calling TRENTON Military on 364.200 but then switched to HF 9.007mhz for a phone patch through Trenton Military. STARGATE now working BLUE ASH.

Take a listen. Lots of comms in Bowling Green.

STARGATE /E8 JSTARs conducting exercises with unk a/c#541 on 341.750/NORAD and JSTARs frequencies. Comms were concerning moving targets, tracking targets and destroying targets. Anyone else getting this?

I had same comms while waiting for work to start in the parking lot. It sounded like either SPIRO or maybe PIRATE 41. He id'd as an F-15 but i have a feeling it was simulated like everything else heard in this area. That is, the callsign and comms came from the same a/c STARGATE is in (E-8C). That's what i believe it was.

Greetings all on R/R. Just got out to Las Vegas, a blistering 72deg out here after leaving Bowling Green at 14deg. Came out to check out the Red Flag activity at Nellis AFB. This place is non-stop. Watched a B2 depart for the northern ranges as well as numerous E3 Awacs. Lots of fighter action also, also foreign a/c. From the house we can hear constant inbound and outbound a/c. I need about a dozen more scanners out here.

Got a new one for AR111. TAZ 71/KC135, 121st ARG, Rickenbacker AFB is refueling RAPTOR 41/F22 as I type on AR 348.900 and with Memphis Center on 288.35. Flew over BG at flight level 260. No visual due to the clouds but we can hear them. They are headed west on the track.

For those able to monitor the western part of the state, there is some night ops in the Ft Campbell range tonight. Currently HAZARD 16 (unk type a/c) communicating w/EAGLE Range Control on 285.625/am "in the turn and inbound".
