I would only have one per channel. You can have more, but you'll end up missing traffic, like you are experiencing now. What is happening is that a talkgroup will become active, but your radio may not be on that particular talkgroup at that instant and it won't get anything at the speaker until the radio stops scanning on that talkgroup. This is why the first part of their transmission is cut off. Then of course, later on if there is a delay between the parties conversation, your radio will start scanning the other 6 talkgroups and will miss other traffic. If you want to scan more than one talkgroup, just make the first channel will 10 talkgroups and name it SCAN. Then, on the other channels, just keep it to one. The radio will scan fine on the SCAN channel and will not miss anything when you turn to the dedicated channels.
