"oh and by the way....just so Rob knows..........there are 3 towers that were built.......not 2."

That's correct... The original plan had Dundee + 2 new, earlier this year they decided to go with 3.

"Dont believe me?"

The frequency listing shows 4 towers, so regardless of believing you or not I think the FCC would be considered accurate.

The Ida tower will used for fire paging on 154.430, and 453.625 MHz., which is the county EMD frequency. The other UHF frequencies will be phased out over time, with the exception of 460.425 MHz., which is used for the law enforcement MDCs. However, that too will be replaced in due time with a new system.

Monroe County System

Tonight at 10:30PM they are going to try to put some of the towers online and do testing. The system is expected to be ready within a month.

AAFD,

Just in case you did not know, as of right now as stated above the CC is 868.9000 which is the CURRENT Dundee tower site, we dont expect any changes in that for the other towers since it is a Simulcast system. And if you did know that....then disregard my statement!

And yes, over the next month a lot is going to be happening with Monroe County, all I can say is be monitoring it, I am going to be using Pro96Com on it...

Hope that helps....

Noob Question

Pardon my ignorance but:

Shouldn't I be able to at least hear bursts of static and see talkgroup IDs on my Pro-92?

Or does this system work differently than an analog Motorola trunked system?

Just trying to get some IDs for when and if I get a Pro 96 :)

With a Pro-92, you will not be able to hear anything except buzzing on the control channel, and when someone keys up, you will not be able to hear any voice, just a bunch of buzzing.

and at the same time, that means that you will not be able to get any ID's....

Hope that helps you out!

Get a Pro-96.....you will not be dissappointed!!

How does the audio sound? All other CQPSK systems across the country say the audio sucks, drops out a lot and has tracking issues - anything like that happening?

Dundee

Dundee now is listed with a separate tower number and only a two-freq tower... Any idea why that would be the case? I thought a simulcast system meant all towers were the same?

Watch and wait.........there will be more changes in the next couple of weeks, remember most of us have never seen a "True Simulcast System" in action, and because you are asking.....I dont think you have either....

everyone is watching this system.....so just watch
