No rush - I prefer accuracy to speed as I won't be down again for a few weeks (the system wasn't active over Turkey Day). Just curious if they were still using the tech groups or the 'real' ones. Thanks for the quick response!

The ones that have been seen seem to be in the 2340-2370 range. Most have been seen in affiliations only thus far, so no ID of the talkgroups as yet. Since the scheduled live date is December 12th from reports we've seen, there will probably be more activity in the next couple of weeks to allow talkgroup identification to take place.

How has reception been around the county? Any choppiness or is it pretty uniform?

It sounded bad because the full "SIMULCAST SYSTEM" was not fully operational. But now it seems that it is, and I might say that it sounds really good here!!

We have picked up lots of talkgroups, now just putting them together with the appropriate identifer is the next task, but it is coming along, I cannot wait till the 13th to listen them live!

That's what I heard after talking to one of the guys doing the testing - he was in a truck with a handheld talking from the state line to Dundee at the time, which wasn't bad after all!

Your best bet is to get Win96 from http://starrsoft.com and a programming cable (links there too.) Sample files are availble which will let you run right away - in the meantime load in the MI Vscanner and scan the MSP bank while you're learning away...

MONROE COUNTY

Hey guys, I tried posting this earlier. I work in the Monroe County system and I bought a pro-96 from radio shack today. DOes anyone have any idea how to program this for Monroe County talkgroups? I tried doing the key up the portable but that just brings up the freq number? Thanks and if anyone from Monroe wants to hook up and trade info let me know.

Thanks

welcome monroe user did you program all the monroe county freqs further up the page for monroe county ? i dont get to listen to the radio much during the day i heard central dispatch tell one of the weigh
masters to go to the state radio the other night but i could not find him.
as far as talk groups i dont think they are out yet if you are having trouble
with your 96 let me know i will get together with you and get you going with it. also rob luna pier used his usual number for the radio test as he uses on 460.175.

Well I would have to say that is sounds very good. I was also in Monroe yesterday and it sounded great there too! I am almost 20 miles from monroe and I am getting decent signals here with good audio quality. However, on 868.4000 it bonks a lot. We will see Monday which CC they will use.

Dont forget to look at Monroe Co under MPSCS and put the talkgroups in, you dont wanna miss anything!

It bonks for you or for the user?

Both, that CC is not really up to par yet, so I am hoping that they will just use 868.9000......but who knows we will have to wait until monday morning....

Bearcat users?

I'm the cops reporter at the Monroe Evening News and have been trying to get everything all set up everything on this new Uniden. Is anyone else getting anything other than 866.800? It seems to be the sheriff's dispatch... or am I just getting minor things because I don't have talkgroups programmed yet?

So far, I haven't been too impressed with the digital traffic I've heard.

Any help anyone a little more experienced than me can offer would be great. Makes it tough to do my job when my ears are taken away from me.

Thanks,
Dan eizans
