For some time now, I've been having difficulty receiving Morris County Public Safety here in Mt. Olive. I've asked for, and received advice. But still can't seem to find a lasting solution. Here's the thing, I barely receive Parsippany PD from my location. And it's my home town, so I really don't want to give it up. Problem is, that limits my options as far as tweaking my setup to better receive MCPS. With regard to it being a simulcast system, I've tried increasing the squelch threshold, but that prevents Parsippany PD. I've tried attenuating only the MCPS system. That doesn't seem to help. Knowing I receive strong FM (88-108Mhz) I tried a notch filter for that band. It again prevents Parsippany PD (not a great filter). Starting to think the only solution would be a beam antenna, which I can't use where I'm at. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
