I'm down here in Murrells Inlet SC and have the trunk system in but not all the talkgroups labelled and have it on search. So it hit on a talkgroup, when I looked it up the label was FUNERAL DETAIL 1. What's more impressive is there's a FUNERAL DETAIL 2! That got me to thinking of having some fun! What's the most unique talkgroup label you have come across? Can be on any trunked system in the database, public safety or commercial but it has to be a recognized labelled, no something you personally label it.. Just something different to discuss

Where are you guys reading these labels from? Is it from the RRDB or over the air? I never got my any of my scanners to decode the OTA talkgroup/radio id Names except when connected to DSD+

Not from over the air monitoring.

Either from talkgroup Alpha tag for the name in a list of talkgroups on this database.

Or from users that use these trunked radio systems and see the names for the talkgroup.

Wonder how much that update would cost if Uniden were to implement alias Decoding. Would be incredibly useful for trunk system analysis to figure out any new systems you find.

One of the weirdest I've ever seen was back in 2014. The radio had four channels:

1: Ch-1 FB2
2: Ch-2 MO
3: Ch-3 FB2
4: Ch-4 MO

I asked the person who gave me the radio what the deal was. "Um, I don't know what those stand for... Freebird or Firebase or something probably."

Bored/unimaginative radio tech is my guess.

I was programming the Horry County SC trunked system and saw the label "FUNERAL DETAIL"

Oh then this should be in “Industry Discussion“ instead of General Scanning.
Anyone with a Scanner can make up their own TG labels (many that I have seen have actually been wrong), the actual two-way is the unique names (Some Fun)
