Thanks. I have one and am trying to figure the best way to mount it to be able to switch between 3 vehicles.

If it were me, I would find a way to route the cables to be out of sight or fasten them to the surfaces they are near now. I think the speaker location is pretty good for each passenger to hear the radio. Years ago I had an employee I supervised who was hard of hearing so I told the radio techs to mount the speaker for his mobile right behind the driver's side window at his ear level. The improvement in being able to reach him on the radio was remarkable. When he first saw it he was quite pleased. I received his new truck while he was off for a couple of months during the winter. I had the radio tech install the radio just after the truck arrived. I added some other features to the truck I knew he would like and he really appreciated those to. Included was a nice program for the Bendix-King mobile in the truck. He had never had as many frequencies in his radio as he got with the new truck. He could finally talk with wardens with the Calif. Dept. of Fish and Game directly on his radio. His fish/wildlife busts went up in numbers as a result.

My supervisory style was to take care of the people below me first and if I had any time left I would try to safisfy those above me. I don't know why this method is so hard for so many to grasp. Of course, it got me in hot water on one National Forest I worked on, so I had to leave sooner than I wanted to. I had the respect of everyone below me all over the Forest but not at my same level and above. It was OK as I transferred to the best job of my career from there.

With the noise pickups make and aren't insulated from I think a high mounted speaker is the way to go.

P.S. I have a 7800 for my wife's car. I like it and the 8800 I have in our "out of town car." I like the 20 banks for each side of the radio. You really have a good chance to organize the memory and make it useful for the different areas you travel to.
