That was one of them. @N1SQB, it took a little playing with the settings to get it to work well. I only had one DPL channel that did this, but it was very annoying.This thread in the GRE forum deals with squelch tails on DPL/DCS frequencies.
PSR600 - squelch tails tick me off.
I got my 600 last night, programmed in a DCS and now I've got squelch tails. Doesn't DCS, in theory, eliminate tails? My Yaesu sounds beautiful.forums.radioreference.com
Yeah I have been tweaking it and I may have gone too far off, a local strong department is not coming in during scan…. I’ll get it right.
What I’m trying to figure out is what exactly do the numbers mean. Say 7, what is 7? Seconds, milliseconds, should I go up or down ? Etc. I think that’s what is giving me a problem.
BINGO!!!! I left everything else factory and just adjusted the “SQFADE” down to 1 and it seems to have done the trick. It was set at 10. I can’t thank you enough for this link, as well everyone else who gave suggestions.The PSR500 (and WS1065) expert settings are explained here:
