This thread in the GRE forum deals with squelch tails on DPL/DCS frequencies.

That was one of them. @N1SQB, it took a little playing with the settings to get it to work well. I only had one DPL channel that did this, but it was very annoying.

Yeah I have been tweaking it and I may have gone too far off, a local strong department is not coming in during scan…. I’ll get it right.

What I’m trying to figure out is what exactly do the numbers mean. Say 7, what is 7? Seconds, milliseconds, should I go up or down ? Etc. I think that’s what is giving me a problem.

BINGO!!!! I left everything else factory and just adjusted the “SQFADE” down to 1 and it seems to have done the trick. It was set at 10. I can’t thank you enough for this link, as well everyone else who gave suggestions.
Scanner is receiving well and squelching smoothly.
