I currently scan my counties Trunking System (Horry County, SC Trunking System) with the primary intention of listening to Fire Dispatch, as it is my line of work. I monitor most of the talk groups that appear on radio reference. However, when I’m at work, and I am on scan mode with my APX6000, it picks up some kind of additional channel that I cannot figure out. It is simply a digital voice announcing call dispatches, for example “Box 3901, Fire Alarm, Ladder 39, Engine 4”, or “Medic 30 move up to station 36”. When I asked my knowledgeable partner what channel I was hearing, he replied “It’s not a channel, it’s a feature.” And he seems to be right, it’s not a regular listed talk group. What is this that I’m hearing? Is it some kind of integration with the CAD? With the paging system? How do I add it as a feature to my at-home scanner? Any help with this would be awesome

Sounds like you answered your own question the end of the paragraph though i could be wrong. There are several departments around here that use an automated voice to dispatch around here. Most of them are on a separate TG.

Follow up: I hadn't realized, but at the time of this post HCFR had just implemented Purvis Voice Dispatching. They have it set up on a new TG that had been added to the radios at work and I hadn't realized. Just FYI though, new channel is encrypted so can't scan at home
