Here is the easiest to understand manual you can possibly find for your radio: Easier to Read BCD396XT Digital Scanner Manual. And more specifically for the Pasco EDACS system, this part: http://marksscanners.com/396XT/396xt.shtml#program edacs system The Pasco system is EDACS Standard, so you select Wide/Narrow.

Try programming it yourself before you have someone else program it for you. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. Familiarity with your radio is something that you'll be glad you have later down the road. If you find there are specific things you don't understand, ask, and we'll try to help.

I`ll program it. If you cant figure it out. Depending on what you want i can come over and program it in a 30 mins or less. Also Tampabaynews lives alot closer to you, he programs for people all the time. Might want to give him a shout.

Use a computer

I use the butel software to do my programing for the 396 and 330 scanner . I find it fast and EZ to use

FD Chief, if you haven't had any success getting your scanner programmed send me a private email or message and it would be my pleasure to assist you.

FD, you realize that posting your personal Email on these forums makes you vulnerable to the web bots ( AKA: Google Spiders, and the other many search engines) and could lend you a nice healthy portion of spam and ads? your email was once removed by the mods, and you posted it again, and even at that 3 more times!!! im only telling you this to be a helpful Techie and a RR Forum friend....... so with that said, only post your email in PM's and not in the public..... it will help you in the long run from a major case of Spam and Ad's and even worse in some cases from getting into your email box.
