I have a Whistler WS1065 scanner. I have been trying to program the scanner using WIN500 for Houston County, TN. I can go through the steps on WIN500 to select what I want to upload to the scanner and when I click "Import this System" I receive this message "This system type is not supported by the PSR-500. Trunking info will not be transferred, but you can import the system's frequencies in non-trunked (conventional) mode."

I have no idea what this message means or what I need to do. Will my scanner not work for the county I am wanting to listen to? I have read the forum and help sections on here trying to find out what I need to do but I am not having any luck. Can someone please help me with this? Also, I have tried importing using to the conventional frequencies but that doesn't seem to work either. I am not able to hear any of the talking on the scanner. Thank you.

It means that the scanner does not support trunking systems, but you can scan in the traditional mode. Trunking allows a scanner to follow a conversation as it switches channels, where conventional is simply stopping on an active channel until another active frequency is detected.

What is a scanner that does support trucking systems? The scanner has "digital trunking" wrote on it and the user manual. Is there something else I need to be looking for when purchasing a scanner that will work for trunking systems?

First of all, double posting is not a way to encourage people to answer your question. Secondly, you did not give enough information originally to easily determine the cause of your problem. Simply put, you need a different scanner as answered in your duplicate post

Jasepence I am sorry if I have upset you. I am new to this and was not sure if I posted in the correct thread or if I needed to post under each thread for others to see. I will try to go back and delete my other post.
