Need Help

Ive recently got my hands on a motorola xts1500 700/800mhz i want to enter these freq.s if threre only as discribed not with other activity like police just fire,ems and on event10 penndot. i had entered the freq.s on this site but are only receving police and ems and once in awile a fire chat on event6 but it bounces around if anyone can help let me know thanks.

This is the Montgomery County system he is reffering to BTW. Most likely the bouncing around you refer to is the digital noise from the digital transmissions that the fire talkgroups use. I have a Pro 97 and I can hear most of the police, EMS, and misc. stuff on the system but the fire and digital police all I can hear is digital noise. If you want to be able to hear the fire stuff, you need to have an APCO-25 compliant scanner (i.e. Pro 96/2096, PSR 500/600, BCD396/996T). Most likely the radio you are using is not APCO-25 compliant and it can only receive analog. Hope this helps out.

thanks for the info my radio is a xts1500 700/800mhz 9600 baud rate, APCO Project 25. FM-Intrinsically Safe. flash code 5000080004882. my only problem i only want to listen to fire and ems only do you know how i could do that.

in order to program a radio on a motorola trunking system...

1. you must be authorized.
2. need to have the system key....

yes you need the system key otherwise it will only do digital bounce and the radio might be non digital as others have it is better to hey a pro 96 and listen to that
