TGID 9001 also being used for grid testing. This sounds like it's citywide testing on both talk groups. Radio ID's in the 30000 series..

Grid testing continued today. In addition, TGID 7012 with RID's in the 55336xx range were used. These ID's correspond to CPD radios. In the clear (so far)...

Testing last two days on the Water Department talk groups. One of the tests asked for a radio check on "Admin" on TGID 4001. RID's used were in the 475xx range, 3000xx range and 400001 which might be a dispatch.

Some additional testing over the past few days on 2500 series talk groups on Chicago Site 1. During one of the tests today, heard a mention of "testing CPD" on talk group 2501 on RID 290xxx series. This is possibly O'Hare's P25 system. Other talk groups heard previously were 2506, 2507, 2510, 2511, 2512. All talk groups are Phase 2. When O'Hare's Site 3 went on line some time ago, it was reported 2500 series talk groups were seen.

I can confirm TGID 2501 as O'Hare CPD and was identified during testing. The OCC (O'Hare Communications Center) put out a "test dispatch". Radio ID's 29000220, 29000221, 29000136, 2504100.

Can also confirm TGID 2510 as O'Hare Joint Ops. as was also identified during testing. Radio ID's were 290xxxxx series too.

Talk groups being heard on Site 1 in Phase 2.

Midway P25 system has been switching between Phase 1 and 2 on certain talk groups (Security, CPD,CFD. Operations) for awhile. As of Thursday (12-5), all talk groups are using Phase 2.

It would appear that Radio ID 2504100 is an O'Hare Communications Console (OCC). I've been sporadically hearing testing over the past couple weeks. Their is a discrepancy on audio quality and might be the reason for the delay in migrating to the new system? The "issue" is at the console level, despite all other users disputing audio quality. Maybe a case of "digital ear vs. analog ear"?

CPD Marine Unit Car-to-Car Talkgroup 5091, is now showing encrypted. Seeing previous Marine Unit portable radio ID's but the dreaded ENCY flashing. I wonder why this happened?

Some recent tweets that are about to end CPD listening:

"79/Coles: EMS is rolling for a call of a female having an asthma attack after taking some bad heroin."

"A white male is throwing money at the employees at United Auto Insurance and inviting customers outside for trouble. 3201 N Harlem Ave".

Is this "transparency" or just careless listeners?

City of Chicago OEMC requesting an extension to build out the next phase of the P25 800 Mhz. system.

Frequencies are identical but locations are different. So far, three sites are built out..O'Hare and Midway each has a "stand-alone" site, while Site-1 is the Chicago Simulcast and carries traffic from both stand-alone sites (O'Hare on-line and is currently in testing phase).

I see nine "unused frequencies" between 3 active sites:

851.050, 853.825,851.5875, 853.300, 853.675, 852.175, 853.050, 853.575, 853.6375

One additional license hasn't used any of the frequencies:

Activity heard today on TGID's 4005, 4007, 4009 all Phase 2 with RID's in the 484xxxx range. Conversation of "the clarity as good as a phone, or better", "whether the foreman will be getting these radios", "not right away, but very soon". Possibly Department of Water Management?

I tried to run my system (Chicago Airport Operations) using Site-1 this morning while a second scanner used Site-2. I was able to receive Midway CPD and TMA's, on Site 1, but no other Midway talkgroups that were active. As of today, O'Hare CPD has been active and able to be received on Site-1. The simulcast site doesn't carry "all" talkgroups from the two stand-alone sites so it's possible other talkgroups are in use on the O'Hare site, but I'm unable to receive it at my location. If anyone is closer can monitor and update the database for us...thanks.

I was by ORD monitoring for about two hours. The only traffic I was getting was on the ORD site was CPD Dispatch P2 slot 2 traffic. Funny thing is it would come up on slot 1 then switch to slot 2. Testing was also being done. Sounded like the tg was in use.but not fully in use. Was really there to verify some DMR stuff.
