Picking up SD Office (87) units on the EV-20 alternate overnight...their APX's speakers were bleeping and booping a lot more than I remeember for some reason, and the old extender channel was not active. Do the officers need to select a specific channel on their handheld for use with the EV-20...assuming there is no active channel steering taking place.

I was not paying attention, but it was whatever used to be tagged alternate in the RRDB, as that is what I have NAC in the scanner which was receiving the transmissions. Will confirm later tonight.

I would be surprised if that’s the case. The NACs formerly listed as alternate in the DB were for the old CPVE extenders and were not typically used.

The new EV-20 extenders seem to be using NAC EE6 statewide, but I’m trying to confirm in more areas before listing it in the DB.

Confirmed a few minutes ago, San Diego Orange EV20 is using NAC EE6.

So what is the status of the old VHF-Extender freq. 154.905?

Every CHP unit has a VHF-Hi deck on-board now...is 154.905 now just a simplex tactical.

The VHF extender portables all had CLEMARS 154.920, CLEMARS Mobile 154.935, NALAMARS 154.475 and CALCORD. Some had local county/city freqs or DOJ, F&G depending of needs at the Area Office.

What happened to 154.905?

I doubt the state gave it up, is it now part of CRIS allocations?

NALEMARS is 155.475 MHz and the standard programming plan for the radio Extenders did not have 154.935 MHz.

The standard programming template for the old VHF radio extenders was as follows:
Ch. 1 - 154.905 MHz 192.8 Hz/no PL on Rx for car-to-station "S" Channel.
Ch. 2 - 154.905 MHz 173.8 Hz/ No PL on Rx for car-to-car "C" Channel.
Ch. 3 - 154.905 MHz no PL for talk-around the AVR for portable-to-portable
Ch. 4 - 154.920 MHz CLEMARS
Ch. 5 - 156.075 MHz CALCORD
Ch. 6 - 155.475 MHz NALEMARS
Ch. 7-15 - Local area custom programming
Ch. 16 - Local Area Programming or 154.905 MHz 210.7 Hz No PL on Rx for Motorcycle AVR control.
154.935 MHz was only used in a handful of portables for special ops.

154.905 MHz probably would be used in the northern part of the State for the new system
