I expect I’ll get mine after Christmas (Atlanta HRO).
They should overnight these things for the cost of them!

Orders from HRO where I am usually ship from their VA outlet and sometimes the stuff arrives the next day, max 2 days.
Pre-ordered an ID-52A in Nov from HRO, hoping it arrives before Christmas.😁

I notice DXEngineering is saying an order placed today for an ID-52A will ship on 3/1/2022, a wait of around 2.5 months.
I wonder if the dealers have a long list of pre-orders to fulfill or maybe Icom isn't shipping dealers many units.

Call them and ask.
I'm not sure how DX or HRO processes pre-orders. DX sent an email, HRO called me.. It would not surprise me that there won't be enough radios available for all the pre-orders.

Me too, but a shiny new toy is always welcome, plus you can never have too many radios.😁
I'm going hunting in Montana late January. Will be nice to have it for that trip. With 2500 DR memories I will set it to scan all near repeaters at the start, go hunt, and turn it off upon my return. All the while monitoring the repeaters on the way and back (it's a road trip). File is almost complete in CS-52. Have been testing it out in my ID-51 and IC-5100. Until now I hadn't used DR mode much.

Also ordered my ID-52A from HRO in November.
I emailed HRO asking if my ID-52A would be amongst the first batch shipped.
They said that was unlikely.
They may have many backorders to fulfill so guess it all depends on where your order is in the queue

No, I just ordered one the usual way in November when the ID-52's price appeared on the HRO website.
If you bought a reservation when it was first announced it's likely you're near the front of the queue.
I had a reservation since October of last year but when HRO Atlanta called they had phone issues, I couldn't get back in touch with them for a couple of hours and ordered one the usual way while I was waiting (11/19). After getting in touch with them I was told that it would be near the front of the list. I'm not sure if it was considered a reservation fulfillment or not. I doubt it, so am looking at a few more months.
Based on what I understand they will be filled on a FIFO basis.

I was just on the 705 for half hour taking to my buddy while monitoring D Star with my 74

Think I'll be waiting a little while before I receive my ID-52A.
I'm glad for Icom there appears to be a significant demand for this radio.
It certainly appears to be in high demand, the ID-51 was in need of a major screen update.
