Pennsylvania has one National Forest in the northwest portion of the state, the Alleghany National Forest.

Alleghany National Forest

Situated on the Allegheny Plateau, the forest is comprised of 514,029 acres in the northwestern corner of the state.

The U.S. Forest Service brought new concepts in forest management to the Allegheny Plateau - benefits, sustainability, and collaborative partnerships. The slogan “Land of Many Uses” captures our vision of a healthy, vigorous, working forest that provides timber and wood products, watershed protection, access to underground minerals, ties to cultural history, a diversity of wildlife habitats, and outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities - not only today but in a sustainable way so future generations can enjoy these benefits.

The Forest Supervisors Office is located in Warren, PA. This National Forest has two Ranger Districts, the Bradford in Bradford, PA and the Marienville in Marienville, PA. Dispatching services are provided by the Mid-Atlantic Interagency Coordination Center. This center is located the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency building in Harrisburg, PA. From here the center dispatches all federal and state resources in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. It's radio identifier is "Harrisburg."

The terrain of this National Forest is such that repeaters most likely exist.

it will be interesting to hear from the locals as the Forest Net was 171.5250 and Analog, yet the RRDB says P25 but no NAC info

There should be 10 repeaters based on some old Maps and IAP's
Allegheny NF - Allegheney Repeater
Allegheny NF - Zimmerman Hill Repeater
Allegheny NF - Seneca Tower Repeater
Allegheny NF - Tionesta Repeater
Allegheny NF - Watson Repeater
Allegheny NF - Stony Point Repeater 41 31.65N 79 15.52W
Allegheny NF - Dry Brook Repeater 41 57.46N 78. 50.13W
Allegheny NF - Milford Repeater
Allegheny NF - Westline Repeater 41 45.67N 78 43.52W
Allegheny NF - Clarion River Repeater 41 23.44N 78 58.14W

As mentioned before simplex is listed as it is used for air to ground. It is possible that simplex is analog and the repeaters are P25. I wish I could pick up an Eastern GACC frequency directory. I've searched hard, but no luck. Not even a hit on a password protected link. I have no sources or contacts in the Eastern Region (R9) of the USFS either. You must have a source for IAPs that I don't have.

Spent the 4th of July Weekend from Thursday thru Sunday on Tionesta Lake camping, had ACOE Reservoir Control, ANF repeaters from DB and Wiki in and heard nothing all weekend. Saw ACOE park ranger boat on the water by the gatehouse and it looked like they were checking boat registrations via cell phone. Had close call running and only picked up Tionesta dispatch and Venango Northeast channels.

Could they possibly be operating on Warren County talkgroups on PA-STARNet? If so, the law enforcement talkgroups are all encrypted.
