You have a PSR 800 and a Discone on your roof and they haven't been connected to each other?

What am I missing? LOL

ok. attached a picture of my scanner with the paintcan enclosing the antenna. ever since i heard of LSM simulcast distortion i knew the solution would be having a shield against one of the towers

Anyone have any ideas what TG 4583 might be? RID 2350001 affiliated to it today at 11:53. I'm monitoring the Long Branch site. I know 2340xxx is DRJTBC radios but have no idea what 2350xxx could be.

This is crazy. I run a BCD996p2, a BcD325p2 and a BCD436 and I don't have these issues. Sure some spots in the house on the handheld I lose Union County tower but other than that all the radios seem to pick up what I need when I hope to listen. I do have some issues in my office but we are also in a Valley and I only have the handheld there.

Waterfront commission

4213, 4215. Both are encrypted. Seems like they could be U.S. Marshals, but nobody is sure.

used to hear those two groups active some days a while back when they were in clear. my best guess was port authority due to some of the locations they were talking about and surveilling, but i talked to a few cops i know and they said no it was probably waterfront commission police department because of them being in ny and nj and talking about employees on the docks.

I have the antenna run downstairs in my shack for my TS-2000 for UHF/VHF. To be honest I've never tried the discone for either the 800 or the 536,everything I monitor comes in really well with the stock antennas. I think it helps that my QTH is up on a hill and I think I'm 108 feet above sea level. The scanners even work in the basement. I understand what your saying I was told that if I hooked either one to the discone that I would hear even more but when I'm down there I'm on the ham rig.

Am I the only one here that feels there should be a separate support forum for scanners/radios to monitor this system? Don't get me wrong I can most certainly appreciate that everyone is so willing to share there knowledge, but I originally subscribed to this thread for tg, site and technical news/info that goes on with this system. I just think it should be separated.

Those talkgroups are 100 % NOT the Waterfront Commission. They use VHF only.

Today I recorded MONOC 1 calling control on Talkgroup 4583, Same radio ID as on 800, Control answered back on Radio ID 2350003.

A couple of questions....which frequencies are the Waterfront Commission on? I cannot locate in the db.

Also, I dont see tg 4583 listed under njics either. Monoc is now on njics? This is news to me....thought they were switching to cell phones?

Bailly2, I did the same as you with the paint can. Absolutely no difference in performance.

WCPD was using 154.800 DPL 662. They switched from Harris to Motorola and were issued VHF APX6000's. Try that freq but use a NAC search...my contact there says he thinks they are digital now but he doesn't know much about radios. They are all Detectives and most are assigned to other agency task forces and use their radios.

According to the ULS, their license remains active as WQCX461, output 154.800, input 156.1725. I haven't unlocked them in a while, but I will today and get it submitted.

TG 4091 (listed as DOC Statewide 2 in DB) popped up on Bordentown encrypted with Bergen County radio 200045 at 11:40.
