When all is said and done do you think the subscribers will need an update to their programming?
Not likely - I would assume any changes that needed to be made were done prior to the core upgradeWhen all is said and done do you think the subscribers will need an update to their programming?

what happend to the cinnimision site
Answer was posted by policefreak above.Just a heads up Cinnaminson tower pn Rt 130 behind Walmart/Sam's Club is in fact now part of the Berlin Simulcast. I confirmed today using several devices including a unication pager with no antenna attached and got full reception in that location and rapid weakening in every direction from there.
Those new sites/deletion of old sites don’t need to be reprogrammed into the subscribers? Or is it OTAP? Or is P25 standard just built to support changes like this? Not likely - I would assume any changes that needed to be made were done prior to the core upgrade
Which is also why you're probably receiving the system better than you used to.Answer was posted by policefreak above.
I'm sure I'm probably not using the technical terms correctly but subscriber units (radios) receive the peer/neighbor lists from the site they are affiliated to which they look for when the site reception levels drop. So if a new site pops up, the radio knows. And they didn't change the CC's on the sites they changed over so the radio is still looking for those CCs but would get the new site information once it affiliates. The only thing that wouldn't show is the site alias. So instead of the radio saying "Telegraph Hill" or "Bordentown" it would just show the current site as "Site 22" or "Site 55" when the radio is actually affiliated to it.Those new sites/deletion of old sites don’t need to be reprogrammed into the subscribers? Interesting, logical. Whereas WACN-SysID is the unique identifier, is it possible to enter every frequency possible for a licensee such as NJICS. Would not have to touch the codeplug again. Perhaps RSS limitation?@CastorLB hit it on the head. If the control channel frequencies don't change, and as long as they're in the subscriber's list, they'll find the new cells directly without issue.
For other new sites that might have a new set of control channels, the adjacent site list usually takes care of that until the codeplugs can be refreshed.
It's worth noting that for a wide area system like this, there is normally no specific site info programmed into the APX codeplug*. The radio doesn't care if the Berlin cell is Site 4 or Site 40 or Site 140...as long as the control channels are in the list for the system, it's good to go. It's pretty rare to program a radio on a P25 system these days and restrict it to a single site, normally you program it as SmartZone (single zone (RFSS), multi-site) or SmartZone & OmniLink (multi-zone (RFSS), multi-site) or Inter-WACN Roaming (ISSI connected systems) or Intra-WACN Roaming (mostly used for Harris systems), depending on what you're trying to accomplish, and the radio figures most of the other stuff out on its own once it locks onto a valid control channel for the programmed WACN-SysID combination.
*Specific site info may be programmed into a Site Alias list for RSSI polling, or in trunking personalities to set preferences for certain sites based on the talkgroups within that personality (not commonly done, however).
Even if there had been such a list, it would be somewhat outdated now given all of the recent changes to sites and realignments of simulcast cells.I've had this question a bunch of times a lot in past weeks and I think I know the answer because I haven't seen anything, but is there any resource that lists the NJICS sites and what traffic tends to be carried on each site?

Precisely. I'm thinking that when the dust settled I would like to attempt to make some kind of list that gives a general idea of what sites carry what channels. It will be a lengthy process and may require some help but it could be very useful even understanding that this can change at any time.Even if there had been such a list, it would be somewhat outdated now given all of the recent changes to sites and realignments of simulcast cells.
Deja vu?Berlin…did I miss something? Used the search function “Berlin” of this thread and entire forum. Usual banter. The DB has a line through Berlin 03? @GTR8000
Thanks !Deja vu?

Earths atmosphere has been bombarded with solar storm activity for several days now. Since this started I can only receive the berlin simulcast site with an outdoor yagi pointed right at the berlin site. As previously noted, Berlin was site 4, not 3, and is now 40. Has been for weeks, in fact, and you took part in the discussion.
Or are you referring to Bordentown? Previously 3, now 55?
Either way, please look at the listings in the database, but remember to scroll down past the first few sites and you'll surely find what you're seeking.
