Significant activity on 2635 (Te) this morning. West Orange and Passaic County sites. All NJSP Portable ID's in the 22000's and 23000's. Certainly on the face of it appears to be some type of Task Force or covert investigative TG for Troop B area.

Speaking of Site 1 West Orange I appears at least for today B2-8 TG2243 has some changes on its usage. Some years ago it was Command Post only. Most recently I recall Commercial truck inspections. Today it seems as if it is being used as an alternate to B2-4 centered on 80/287 radius for regular trooper patrol. Have they split B2-4?

Visiting Jersey, fired up the radio. Here's some unidentifieds....

TGID: 2623 (Te)
RID: 21253, 23094, 23097, 23223 (All in NJSP Portable ID Range)
Site: (1) West Orange, (7) Union County
Interestingly enough, on Saturday, around 15:00 hours I heard all troopers on the command channel involved in the "newark crimes special detail" were instructed to go to channel B2-21. RIDs involved in this chatter were 99541, 12581, 21070, and 23223 (the exact same RID you caught. Makes me think that TG 2623 is B2-21.

On another note, it looks like the Sussex County OEM TG is multicasting traffic from the Sussex County Sheriff's dispatch?

TGID: 5659 (T)
Site: (7) Union County Simulcast
RIDs: 2013026, 2013920 (Rahway)
Context: Yelling about something at the library. Possibly city security or Rahway DPW?

B2-21, unless the plan changed, should be 2267 CIB North 1. But I agree that 2623 is definitely some type of detail or task force frequency.

AES-256 secured
2-1 to 2-21 are all the same. I know the Human Services PD talk-group has not moved. Not labeled 2-25 and up in the radio. There are additional secure talk-groups that came online over the last year or two maybe for various things, but the 2-20s are still active.

I know you can't say more, but I think you also just explained some of the unidentifieds I've been seeing while visiting back here in Jersey...so, so noted.

Site 21 New Providence STR gets a much deserved rest, I believe first sighted and photographed by @RadioDitch back in 2020 is now OOS. The new sub-Site for Site 7 lit up the TinySa with -70 dBm where the STR was.

Guilty.

In other news, I was told today by a source that 2623 and 2635 are, "Troop B specific secure talkgroups not for standard patrol use". It was not elaborated on, and I wasn't gonna push my luck by asking further.

Also, I'm going to be establishing a full time monitoring of West Orange, Passaic, and Morris simulcasts via Unitrunker on a dedicated computer. As a result, if anyone needs historical data to search for or confirm something, I'll be able and happy to provide logs and research material.

Pondering submitting the ENC TG block that is the State as noted for some time.
The RID’s seem to verify. The point is that with the SDS series, as it is now, when discovery is run it aways records these. It is excessive.

My work around, I manually created a unknown department so it skips over. I wrote about 60 entries to the block.

If these were in the DB, the compare feature would simply skip these automatically.

I suspect if amenable @GTR8000 would figure a way to “nest” this.

Thoughts?
