It looks like the Hunterdon simulcast has 2 different configurations. Is one replacing the other? Which set of frequencies would be best to program. One is 4 frequencies, the other 6. Looks like same coverage map
Discussed earlier, same thing that has transpired with some of the other simulcast cells. 2 is on the way out, to be replaced with 54. Both are currently active, so if you need to listen during the transition, program both. Some subsites on one cell, some on the other. No ETA for the full cutover to 54.

Another question is someone in the area has tested these frequencies out. The second one is the one which receive the majority of the traffic. However something interesting happens, sometimes the radios on buses would rotate between frequencies. The radios on the buses would still receive all of the frequencies but someone monitoring it on a scanner would need to jump around. Any idea on what kind of system that is?
Please start a new thread for any discussion unrelated to the NJICS trunked system. Thanks.

What TG are the Union County ambulances run by the Union County Division of Emergency Services dispatched out of? I've been struggling trying to listen. I believe they're on NJICS but I could be mistaken.

What Tac-1 said. Sometimes they come up on 4545 (HMH Central Ops) for Plainfield and a few other Union County areas, so keep your eyes peeled for that activity too.

Anyone know what TG 1729 is? I don't see it listed. Currently, they are talking about shots being fired somewhere (I think I heard them say "Horizon Gate" and they said something about someone breaking into a stadium, so I'm assuming they're talking about Red Bull Arena) and that someone is in there with a long gun. As I'm typing this, they just said "the shooter is down" and "EMS is en route." I am hearing them on the Passaic County site.

I'm gonna venture a guess and say it's an EMS talkgroup, 1725 is a statewide EMS Tg so it's pretty close

It sounds more like an operations channel of some sort. They keep talking about the shooter and his description. They are definitely police.

Note that the 800 MHz frequencies for the Passaic cell (Site 17) have changed to 12.5 kHz spacing. Two of those are control channels, so be sure to update any programming ASAP.

856.4625, 856.9625, 857.4625, 858.9625

become

856.45625, 856.95625, 857.45625, 858.95625

More 800 MHz changes. Site 60 Pluckemin (Old Stage Coach Rd) new control channels of 858.70625 and 858.96875. Look for the rest of the channel lineup to change at that site as well.

From what I got over the last couple hours 856.46875, 856.96875, 857.46875, 858.45625, 858.70625c, 858.96875c.

I am curious they did a complete new set of channels rather than just adding some additional frequencies.

That is the lineup, 6 channels. All previous frequencies decommissioned, two additional added.

Those with sharp eyes will note that four of the new frequencies are a mere 12.5 kHz higher than the 800 MHz frequencies used in the Passaic cell.

Oh and PS...submit, submit, submit.

It is interesting that efforts to increase spectrum efficiency is underway, this despite the freeing up of dozens of channels previously at depreciated sites.

Must be a new mantra, or more sites and more subscribers expected. Looks like building for the future, today.

Keep in mind that most of the 700 MHz frequencies that are used are from the limited pool of state allocated frequencies, which are shared among every state. That limits their usage, especially when bordering states are also using them. The MRRS system in the NYC metro area, for example.

It's never a bad thing to be more efficient, and some of the NJICS sites had capacity issues, hence the additional frequencies (Pluckimen, for example).

It would be nice if they posted a "radio complaint" link on the State Police web site to send in complaints on this system, something like the old QSL cards or yesteryear. audio from dispatchers is unreadable, not distorted or anything like that just so low, the cars come in fine.
I wonder if they monitor these pages.

I agree. All systems need a radio complaint avenue so scanner listeners can report problems.
