OPP seems to be the way most small town Police Services Boards are going , I recall here in Elliot Lake the costing analysis of OPP vs Town Police, we saved $700,000 in the 1st yr alone.

Same Policing , mega savings.
Thanks
It's common practice for the OPP to bid in at lower costs on the first contract.
Wait for the next contract when the current one expires. Then you'll understand the term "bent over".
Many smaller places in my area have experienced this. By this time it's too expensive to re-establish their own force so you'll either pay or accept reduced coverages to keep your costs reasonable.
St. Marys just went through this and they gave up a Sgt. position plus some reductions in coverage to keep costs in line.
St. Marys approached Stratford (only other possible option) for a quote on police services which Stratford refused to tender.

The one you actually want around here is 410.8625 NFM. It's the vehicular repeater channel 01. it's the one I use in my van on my FT-8800R ;)

Alpha tags NL

I don't beleive alpha tags are working. Unless I'm just lost. But you feed is the same. Nothing different.

Are we suppose to see something different? Not too familiar with alpha tags.

Opp etc

We found savings at all levels of OPP POlicing.

First off , the OPP must be invited by you local Police Services Board , from there a Costing report is done.
This can take 2 yrs or less , then the report is given to the PSB , and then tabled by your local ton council .

The opp since 2003 has cost us less each year , we even could afford some new hires , with the savings e had and continue to have .

In closing it is a very long processes as I stated , Im sorry your town is unhappy with the OPP costing.

Here as I said ,we have saved $$ each yr since 2003.

OPP are investigating a 10-45. Man was found dead in his apartment. Crazy thing is that this is happening right across the street from my place. Almost every officer in the area is across the street.

Here was the scene in front of my home earlier today. At one point there were 13 cruisers on scene.

Sorry my feed is down. There's a thunderstorm rolling through my area and I'm just not taking any chances with my equipment. I'll have it back up once the weather changes.

Yeah It's pretty wild. Lots of action in zone 3 the last month. A lot of crazy people up north.

Also a question for the new liskeard feed guy (bglatour). Today here in Kirkland Lake I heard a lot of the (medivac) I think that's how you say it.

They use the frequency 133.975 I think. What I'm looking for is the frequency for the other person who responds. I kept hearing the helicopter 100% signal, but I could not hear the guy on the other end.

I tried scanning all the AIR frequencies, and still did not get it. Do you know the other frequency?

You'll rarely hear the ground side of the conversation. Helicopters fly a lot lower than most aircraft. And as far as I know, all aircraft coms are simplex.

When you are listening to aircraft such as 129.275 (Air Ambulance) you will only the hospital base talking if you are in the city or town the air ambulance is talking to. For example, if the air ambulance plane is talking to Sudbury, you will have to be in Sudbury to hear the hospital base talking to the aircraft.

And for all the other air frequencies, for the big planes, when they are talking to Toronto Centre, you will have to be in the area where the freq is based out of, to be able to here Toronto talking on the other end.

And yes all of the air frequencies are SIM. So if an aircraft is talking on for example (134.425), then that is all you need to have entered into your radio to be able to hear the one side of the conversation from your location (the aircrafts) talking.

Hope this helps.

Not sure what the Air Ambulance has to do with a New Liskeard feed?

Perhaps you guys should start a new thread for new questions?
