I think I've got it, Signal-Zero was not answering my question, but asking a question instead!

Thanks

No, you answered my question that I was asking in general to everyone on the forum...that’s why I didn’t copy your question. And you technically didn’t really answer it by saying you have no clue. LOL.

That's a great answer? Question? Got to love it! On the technology of this system, all I know is phase 1 & phase 2. I receive Phase 1 much clearer than I do Phase 2, sometimes a little muffled. I play with the the scanner location, which seems to make a difference, and also the length of the antenna, approximately 10". Other than that, I'm lost! LOL. Thanks for your help!

Anyway....if someone that knows the difference between FDMA and TDMA can advise which talkgroups are coming over the respective systems in what form, that would help thanks.

The last time I talked to my friend at the county I believe he said the 500 site was not provisioned for TDMA yet, only the 700 site.

does the 700 system simulcast all traffic from the 500 system. I am programming my scanner and wondering if i need to put both systems in. ive been running the 700 system in ID search and havent heard much on it

You absolutely should program the 500 site - that's the bread & butter of the main system itself.

They should both be programmed as part of the same system (1 system, 2 sites).

P-25 Diminished Signal

Hi All!

Experiencing a diminished signal on all phase 1 & 2 signals for the last three days.

Anyone else? Could a site be down?

I did notice around the day U posted this I was having a hard time picking up these two systems l, I returned the scanner I was using, waiting for phase 2 update for unication g5 before I can start listening again.

mdsxfire; Thanks for replying! My 536HP has been in and out since my last posting. Right now it's great again, but who knows for how long. I definitely beleive the Somerset Techs are working on the system. I think the Site on Gaston Ave Somerville is down, or being worked on.

I don't use an outside antenna, just depend on the stock antenna on back of the scanner.
Currently, I have to constantly adjust it to receive clear coms.

Ah, the G5! I've looked at that monitor with admiration, but the programming is discouraging me. Had enough to adjust to with the Sentinel Programming. Hope to hear more about your G5!

Thanks,

Does anyone else suffer from LSM issues on this system? My Uniden scanners are pretty much deaf on both sites (uhf & 700). I get full signal on both, it just doesn't decode. I am assuming that I am having LSM issues as I checked programming multiple times.

Yep, whenever I'm at my in-law's in Bridgewater it's BAD.

My friend that works for the county told me at their house, I'm smack in the middle of 3 separate tower sites. I'm probably not even gonna bring it with on Christmas because of that (during the summer I even tried a stubby duck antenna with no improvement).

Thanks Scott, I thought it was only my location!

Thanks Scott. Is that the same behavior you see? Full signal strength but no decode?

I have been having this problem for quite a while in the south side of Bernards Twp, near rt 78. first of all, the 700 is about half the signal strength of the 500 , so the scanners decode badly. and then theres the LSM issues.. I am between 2 towers... constant signal break up

I did a side by side with two PSR-800’s (mine and and borrowed coworkers) on the UHF and 700 sites. The UHF decoded a significant amount more than the 700 and FDMA more than TDMA.
